We're incredibly honored to be hosting Angus Leckonby as part of this new national campaign by Coca-Cola and Special Olympics GB! Angus and his father will be hosting a charity swim for Special Olympics on 13 September at our York Sport Village pool.

Angus is hoping to inspire people with intellectual disabilities to believe in their potential and pursue their dreams.

"People sometimes underestimate what athletes with an intellectual disability can achieve – but I want to show that anything is possible if you believe in yourself and work hard.

"I hope my journey inspires others to give sport a go and have the confidence to chase their dreams."

Pool Schedule Changes 🏊‍♀️
We’re excited to welcome the Tadcaster York Sport Swim Squad Swim Gala to York Sport Village on 5 and 6 September! 🏆

To accommodate the event, please take note of the following changes to our pool timetable:
- Swimming Lessons: Running as normal on Saturday morning.
- Open & Lane Swimming: Closed from Saturday afternoon through all day Sunday.

Following the technical issue today, we can confirm that both the main pool and training pool will reopen tomorrow, Tuesday 25th August.

All scheduled swimming lessons and timetabled sessions will resume as normal.

❌ Lessons Cancelled: All swimming lessons scheduled for today, Monday 24 August, are cancelled.

We are excited to be hosting the 2026 York Triathlon at York Sport Village on 15 and 16 August. To ensure the event runs smoothly, please note that there will be some changes to our facility opening hours. We recommend always checking our timetable pages prior to your visit for the most up-to-date information.

15 August
- Pool closed to members and the public all day.
- Swimming lessons will run as normal.
- Gym remains open as usual.

16 August

POOLS BACK OPEN SATURDAY 1ST AUGUST
We are pleased to confirm our pools will open at York Sport Village as per the timetable on Saturday 1 August, following today's closure. Swimming lessons will be on as normal, along with all other facilities and activities open as normal.

Hot water disruption at York Sport Village

Due to a burst water pipe affecting hot water supply at York Sport Village, we have had to close our swimming pools for the rest of today (Friday 31 July).

This means that a number of our facilities and services will be unavailable.

The following services are affected:
- Main Pool and Small Pool: Closed on Friday 31 July. As pool temperatures will begin to drop, it will no longer be safe for customers to use the pools.
- Swimming Lessons: All swimming lessons are cancelled on Friday 31 July.
- Showers: The showers in the changing rooms will be cold due to the lack of hot water.
- Café: The café will also be closed due to there being no hot water available for essential hand washing, food preparation and other food safety requirements.

We are hopeful of the hot water supply returning later today but don’t have a confirmed timeframe as yet. We will provide a further update as soon as we have more information.

We sincerely apologise for the inconvenience and appreciate your patience and understanding.
