I didn’t build Elevate because York needed another gym.

I built it because I got fed up of seeing women feel like gyms weren’t for them.

Too intimidated.

Too overwhelmed.

Too scared of doing things wrong.

Or feeling like they had to “get fit first” before they walked through the door.

You don’t 💛

Elevate Studios was built to help women feel stronger, healthier and more confident — in a welcoming, supportive environment where you don’t need experience or confidence before you start.

Just show up.

Every session at Elevate is fully coached, beginner-friendly and designed to help women feel stronger, fitter and more confident — without feeling overwhelmed or intimidated.

You won’t be left wondering what to do.

You won’t feel stupid asking questions.

And you definitely don’t need to “get fit first”.

As a mum of two boys, I know firsthand how hard it can be to prioritise yourself when childcare is the thing stopping you.

And honestly? I think mums deserve better.

So one thing that was NON-negotiable when building Elevate Studios was creating a safe, welcoming space where kids are genuinely welcome 💛

Not tolerated.

WELCOME.

Whether they’re playing with toys, chilling in the soft area or just coming along while mum gets an hour for herself — I want women to feel like fitness is actually accessible.

Because you shouldn’t have to choose between looking after yourself and looking after your kids.

DAY 1 AT THE STUDIO 😭

After a mini key handover meltdown, a LOT of stress and wondering if this place was ever actually going to happen…

The flooring finally arrived 🙌

Cue carrying it in one by one, the kids becoming part-time builders, sore backs and seeing the vision slowly start coming together 🥹

Still SO much to do… but Elevate is officially starting to feel real.

After months of planning, dreaming, spreadsheets, stress, excitement (and honestly a few “what am I doing?” moments 😅..

Elevate Studios is officially happening.

I’m opening a women’s strength training studio in Holgate, York 🥹

A space built to help women feel stronger, more confident and supported - without feeling intimidated.

This has been a dream for such a long time and it honestly still doesn’t feel real.

We’re just getting started, so if you want to follow along with the chaos of building a studio from scratch over the next few weeks..

You need a reality check.

Fat loss, fitness and nutrition isn’t meant to feel like punishment, starvation, and obsession.

It’s meant to be sustainable..
and actually fit your life.

But most women have been taught the complete opposite 🙃

If you saw yourself in this, good.
Now let’s fix it 💪

High protein BBQ pepperoni pizza that actually keeps you on track AND tastes unreal 🍕🔥

If you’re trying to lose fat but still crave a takeaway… this is your “fakeaway” bestie.

Dough:

100g 0% Greek yoghurt
80g plain flour
Pinch of salt

Mix it up, get it into a dough, then roll it out on a floured surface (TOP TIP: use baking paper because she’s sticky and will test your patience otherwise 😅)

Toppings:

40g light mozzarella
20g passata with herbs
7 slices pepperoni
20g BBQ sauce drizzle

Bake at 180°C for ~15 mins or until golden + crispy.

Macros for the whole pizza:
543 cals
30g protein
15.6g fat
75g carbs
3.8g fibre

Now listen..

This is NOT your greasy Domino’s after a night out.

But it is a banging alternative when you want pizza, want to stay on track, and don’t want to wake up feeling like a bin 🫠
Perfect for those “I cba to cook but I’m not sabotaging myself” evenings.

Disclaimer: I used gluten-free flour (coeliac life 🫡), but this will probs be even better with normal flour because let’s be honest.. gluten-free can be giving cardboard vibes.

Half of women will suffer a fracture in their lifetime.

Not a sprained ankle.
Not a “bit sore for a few days”

We’re talking proper, life-altering fractures.. hips, spine, wrists.

And here’s the bit no one tells you 👇

Those injuries don’t just “heal and move on” as you get older.

They can massively impact your independence, your mobility.. even your lifespan.

But yeah - sure - keep worrying about “getting bulky” 🙃

Because while you’re avoiding the weights section..
your bone density is slowly declining in the background.

As women, we naturally lose bone density with age - especially around menopause.

So if you’re not actively doing something to build it?
You’re making yourself more fragile over time.

And no - your steps, your spin class, your little 2kg dumbbells…
they’re not enough to properly stimulate bone growth.

You need progressive strength training.
You need load.
You need to actually challenge your body.

This isn’t just about fat loss.
It’s not just about aesthetics.

It’s about building a body that actually holds up for life.

Strong is not just a vibe.
It’s protection.

So yeah… lifting weights?

Not optional.
