The YDAA offers a wide variety of coarse and game angling in and around York. So if your passion is fishing for carp, roach or salmon, we have it covered.

Welcome to the York & District Amalgamation of Anglers page. We have access to twenty stretches of prime Yorkshire river fishing on the Yorkshire Ouse, Derwent, Nidd, Foss, Rye and Seven; Pocklington, and Selby Canals; 11 miles of fishing on the Aire and Calder Canal and seven stillwaters, each with its own individual character. So, whatever type of fishing appeals you will find a water that will satisfy your needs.

Investing in the future of Sand Hutton Fishery

A major otter fencing project at Sand Hutton Fishery is continuing to deliver long-term benefits for fish stocks, anglers and local wildlife.

Supported through the Angling Improvement Fund, York & District Amalgamation of Anglers (YDAA) worked alongside the Angling Trust to implement a comprehensive protection scheme designed to safeguard vulnerable fish stocks from predation and secure the future of one of the region's most historic fisheries.

The project has also delivered wider environmental benefits, helping to create a more secure habitat for nesting waterbirds and other wildlife while supporting the long-term sustainability of the fishery.

A great example of how angling clubs can combine commitment, expert guidance and grant funding to achieve lasting improvements that benefit both angling and the wider environment.

UNFORTUNATELY THIS IS THE ONLY DAY AVAILABLE FOR THE SPECIALIST TO ATTEND THE LAKES.

Latest open match at Poppleton second and third had Barbel Starting to become Yorks own Barbel alley.Lots of Barbel on that stretch now even without rain.
Dont forget you can fish spare pegs after any match starts but please use a bit of common sense and keep a respectful distance

Cracking afternoon/evening session at Villa Farm Pond. Fished 6/8mm soft expander pellets under a waggler, feeding plenty of hard feed pellets and ended up with seven carp, largest of which was just over 5lb. Even needed to slip the net under some quality roach and rudd who were also partial to my pellets.
