Some matches mean more than just the result on the scorecard. Yesterday was one of those days representing the York Garrison Army Golf Team as their professional against Fulford Golf Club — a fixture that has been part of my life for over 10 years and one that remains incredibly close to my heart.
Having my Fulford family alongside my connections with the Armed Forces makes this day special every single year. Golf has a way of bringing together people from different walks of life, and yesterday was another reminder that the friendships, memories and shared moments are what make this game so great.
A brilliant day spent with family and friends, plenty of laughs and great company… and I managed to keep the unbeaten run going in my own individual match too 👊⛳️
Grateful to be part of a fixture that means so much and proud to continue representing both communities that have given me so much over the years.
We were also joined by the Queen’s Piper, Paul Burns, Paul played the bag pipes at the queen’s funeral and he played for us in the Officers’ Mess — what a privilege.
