Vikings Cheerleading All-star cheerleading and gymnastics programme based in York! Our high quality, qualified coaches, a Vikings Cheerleading is a programme based in York.

Created to fill the gap for a high performance team that can cater to all athletes no matter what their background. We hope to unite experienced athletes, university students and newcomers together in a way that hasn’t been done before in the area. We train at Millthorpe School, Nunthorpe Avenue,

This year we're running sessions over the summer break! Sessions will be a mix of skill training and open gym with new and current members welcome to attend.

Sessions will run Tuesdays 7-9pm at Millthorpe School Gymnasium, York and there are 9 sessions over the summer before our regular training and tryouts start in September.

We are now hosting an open gym session from 7pm-9pm on a Friday!

This session is open to both current members and non-members and costs only £2 to attend.
It is cash only and no change will be given. Payment can be made in bulk for multiple sessions.

We train at Millthorpe School, York, YO23 1WF.

⚒️ NEW ATHLETES ⚒️

We are accepting new athletes from Tuesday 18th February for our Open Level 2 cheerleading team. Athletes must be aged 17+.

This team is fab for those currently training at uni or alumni who want to push themselves a bit further and continue with their cheerleading. Also, if you’ve never done cheer before it’s a great way to start!

Training:

Tuesday’s

Previous experience is useful but not necessary.

Our Story

Vikings Cheerleading programme started in September 2016, created to fill the gap for a high performance team that can cater to all athletes no matter what their background. The club aims to unite experienced athletes, university students and new athletes together in a way that hasn’t been done before in the York area.

Directors Scott Reid and Steph Needley, previous athletes and coaches of University of York and York St John University respectively, have consolidated their efforts to provide high quality cheerleading coaching to the local area. Combining their knowledge from both universities in the city, as well as competing and coaching on international levels, they provide a necessary platform to develop a well rounded team that can achieve great things.
