Jane Surmon had her second lesson today on her 4 yr old mare Annie.
She's been mainly hacking and is now going out solo ๐๐๐, and just doing a tiny bit of short sessions in the school.
Jane was a bit unsure of wat to do with her being very hollow in the trot as in the walk shes in a nice contact/outline, after assessing jane trot round, the main problem was pulling back on the inside rein , Annie not going forwards enough , and just a bit of confusion on both parts. I changed Jane's short whip for a longer schooling whip and checked she was happy in walk first with it. we just worked on sending Annie forwards with lots of voice praise as she really picks up on that and loves to please ๐ฅฐWHEN she was forward only then can jane just have a little conversation ( feel) through the reins to encourage Annie to accept a contact and work the right way round , also remembering as a youngster to prepare much sooner for things ie turning , corners .We're thrilled to bits with this mare , a credit to Jade Collins who breeds such lovely versatile horses and vicky heal who gave her such a great start to her ridden career when breaking her in ๐, at the end of the session Annie was joining up with me which is such a lovely feeling as you know they've put their trust in you and feel safe.๐
Well done Jane you did fab today ๐ฅฐxx
