🌟HLDC & RDC COMPETITION TEAMS

Are you interested in taking your dance training to the next level and competing, either on your own, in small groups or as part of a team? Then why not audition for one of our HLDC or RDC competition teams.

🌟HLDC TEAMS
Auditions for our HLDC competition teams will take place on Monday 6th July at Birchfield Community Centre, Birchfield Road, Yeovil

5.15-6.00pm for children aged 6-12 years
7.45-8.30pm for children aged 13+.

The HLDC Teams will prepare multi-style dance pieces to compete in 2 competitions, Motionhouse Championships in Taunton on Saturday 13th March 2027 and at UDO’s Encore Championships in Torquay on a Saturday mid/late June 2027, date to be confirmed (The UDO Street Dance championships will take place on the Sunday at the same venue. Pupils who compete with both HLDC & RDC will receive a special reduced rate to compete on both days) .
The HLDC teams will also perform their pieces in our school summer show next July

🌟RDC TEAMS
Auditions for our new RDC Street Dance / Hip Hop Competition Crews will take place on Monday 6th July 2026 at Birchfield Community Centre, Birchfield Road, Yeovil
Auditions are open to any dancer aged 5-adult. Places are also available for any old RDC alumni who fancy dusting off their dancing shoes
Auditions will take place as follows

4.30 -5.15pm - Junior RDC school year 1-4 in September
6.00 - 6.45pm Intermediate RDC ages school year 5-8 in September
6.45 -7.45pm Advanced RDC school year 9+ in September

Our RDC Competition crews will compete in 2 Street Dance competitions, UK Street challenge Championships in Taunton (on a Sunday in Spring 27, date to be confirmed) and at The UDO Street Dance championships in Torquay on a Sunday mid/late June 2027, date to be confirmed. The RDC Crews will also perform their pieces in our school summer show next July.
No formal Street Dance/Hip Hop training is required for the RDC Auditions, just lots of enthusiasm and energy!

There is no need to prepare anything before any of the auditions, you will be taught a piece of choreography on the day which will be performed in a group.

The Audition Fee is £10 per pupil payable on the day please. If you are auditioning for the HLDC Teams & the RDC Crews, only one audition fee of £10 is payable please

🌟FESTIVAL TEAM
If you would prefer to compete as a soloist, as part of duet or trio or in a small group you are welcome to apply for our festival team. No audition is necessary. You will prepare your dance entry in private/shared lessons throughout the term to compete your piece at Exeter Festival in February half term plus another festival in the summer term (tbc). You can compete in a dance style of your choice and you can have input in the music, costume, styling etc too.

☀️We are already looking forward to our Super Summer of Dance! ☀️

We are so excited to be bringing back our “Build a Dance Show - Summer School” this year. In one week (Mon-Fri) the children will attend daily classes 9am-1pm to learn a selection of dances in different styles to perform to their parents and families at the end of the week.

During the week we will also work on conditioning, dance technique and maybe even a bit of singing! But we will also have some time for games, competitions, disco time and a prop making workshop. It is going to be so much fun and we are really looking forward to seeing what the children can create in a week.

Places are limited so please register your interest as soon as possible to guarantee your child/children a place.

If you are not able to attend the summer school please don’t worry, you can still be involved in our Super Summer of Dance! We will be holding regular ballet, street dance and Acro/conditioning classes throughout the summer holidays.
We also have some incredible professional Street Dance/Hip Hop teachers coming to give workshops during the holiday. Lots of great opportunities to keep you dancing through the summer!

Come and Audition for a place in our exciting 2026/2027 Teams⭐️

Our HLDC teams compete in a variety of dance styles including lyrical, contemporary, jazz, musical theatre, modern dance, ballet. The all round training enhances all of our pupils’ technique & performance ability.

Auditions for the new HLDC Junior, Mid and Senior Teams will take place on Monday 6th July at Birchfield Community Centre, Yeovil
