Interval training can help reduce body fat and increase your strength & endurance. Your body will continue to burn fat for up to 24 hours after you have finished your workout and will aid in boosting your metabolism!
Intervals can consist of a certain amount of time/distance/cals followed by rest or mix it up with some resistance exercises, such as thrusters, kettle bell sings, crunches etc.

Let's talk lifting weights and weight loss!

How many of you have thought about going for a run or doing a sweaty hiit workout to start your weight loss journey?
My clients are always surprised when I tell them that weight lifting is the go-to if you want to lose weight.
Yes you will burn calories during a hiit class or on a run, but after weight training your body will continue to burn calories so therefore you will end up burning more calories than you would have done in that class or run!
As an extra bonus, weight training leads to muscle gain, and muscle gain leads to an increase in your metabolism, which means your body will burn more calories at rest✌️
So if you are wanting to lose weight, get to the gym and start lifting some weights!💪

"Why do I need a personal trainer when I can do it by myself?"
I recently trained someone that's been going to the gym for about 20 years, never had a pt and just did what he felt at the time. By the end of the session, he felt humbled to discover the value of a personal trainer. He tested his muscles and cardiovascular endurance like he'd never done before. He was pushed out of his comfort zones and learned new ways to do the things he's been doing for the past 20 years.
Personal trainers are there to aid you in your fitness journey, get you out of your comfort zones, cheer you on & support you, not just stand and watch. You can benefit so much from having just one session with a pt!
A personal trainer is an investment into your health and fitness✌️

6 tips to grow your glutes!

🍑The glutes are the largest muscle in the body, this means we need to target them at least 2-3 times a week!
🍑Follow a structured program to ensure you are staying consistent.
🍑Hit each muscle group by adding in hinge, squat and bridge movements.
🍑Train heavy! Progressive overload those weights weekly.
🍑Protein! We need protein to aid muscle recovery & growth, 1.4-2g per kg of your weight daily.
🍑Make sure you are taking rest days and getting enough sleep!
