You@may/may not know, since 2015, we have shared our home with two rescue donkeys from The Donkey Sanctuary Sidmouth ….. over the years we have welcomed all sorts of visitors …..
“Surprisingly and shockingly for some ….. today started with me shouting “Sam, the pakis are here” 😳 you might be thinking ….. wtf …… or how rude ……. bloody racist!!! ….. actually a quote from a well-known film aimed at one of it’s stars just as they arrived at our home today 😂😂😂
Together with a team from The Donkey Sanctuary we welcomed Flavia Cacace-Mistry and Jimi Mistry to our home to meet our donkey boys and create some footage to promote the rehoming scheme and guardianship program offered by the DS.
They say you should never work with children or animals …… however I am happy to report that a “perfect 10” was achieved on all accounts.
Little Lad and George’s (grey donk) performance throughout the afternoon was a joy to behold - calm, never fluffing their lines or missing a cue - they seemed to enjoy all the attention AND no treats or bribes or second-takes were needed to complete the busy schedule.
Samantha was fantastic on camera, so calm and natural too and Jess was so well-behaved and seemed to enjoy meeting/greeting everyone ….. we really could not ask for more from our little furr-babies.
Flavia and Jimi were lovely, we had lots of fun throughout the afternoon - I hope they enjoyed the experience and Sammy’s delicious courgette cake!
Thanks to Sophie at the DS for all your advice and guidance over the last 11 years …. you should be really proud of how these two lovely donkey-boys have turned out, despite such a tough start in life.” Flavia Cacace
