What a weekend for Buckland Monachorum CC!

Both our 1st XI and 2nd XI reached their respective Cornwall County Finals yesterday — an incredible achievement that caps off a hugely successful season for the club.

Our 1st XI showed real fight after being bowled out for 69, pushing Stithians all the way before narrowly losing by just 2 wickets in a spirited defensive effort.

But the day belonged to our 2nd XI, who are now Division 7 County Champions!
They bowled Crofty Holman 2nds out for 90, then chased it down with style to win by 5 wickets.

Standout performances:

• Gary Elkington – 45*
• Steve Mannell – 4–19
• Darren Bartrop – 3–13
• Sam Houldsworth – 3–31

With both teams topping their leagues and promotion very likely next season, this has been one of the most successful years in the club’s history. A huge thank you to all players, sponsors, volunteers, supporters, and everyone who makes BMCC what it is.

Cornwall Cricket League

Both our 1st XI and 2nd XI feature tomorrow. Having won their respective Eastern divisions, they’ll take on the champions of the Western divisions.

Our First XI take on Stithians Cricket Club

Three changes to the side since last weekend was rained off. J Maunder, A Fishley are back in, with J Driscoll making his first appearance in the 1st XI.

Our Second XI take on Crofty Holman Cricket Club

After the last two opponents conceded to them, they’ll be looking forward to this run out!

Congratulations to our two senior sides who confirmed their place as champions of their respective division following yesterday’s washout. 🏆

Tomorrow’s opponent has conceded, meaning they top their division. A great achievement in only their second season.
