🏏 Girls Only Winter Nets! 🏏

Yelverton Bohemians Cricket Club are excited to announce our Girls Only Winter Nets for players aged 9–14 years!

Starting Sunday 17th January 2027, sessions will run for 8 weeks from 1:00pm – 2:30pm at Mount Kelly Sports Hall.

Whether you’re already playing cricket or looking to give it a go for the first time, we’d love to welcome you along! 🙌

🏏 Soft ball and hard ball options available
⭐ Open to current players and new players
💙 A great way to build skills, confidence and have fun through the winter

A huge thank you to Michael Marais for being Yelverton Bohemians Cricket Club’s overseas player for the 2026 season. Every week, Michael was a friendly, hardworking and dedicated individual who was a pleasure to have around the club. His quality off-spin bowling was a fantastic addition to the team this season. It has been a pleasure having you with us, Michael, and we can’t wait to see you again soon. Good luck on your next adventure — you’ll always be welcome at Yelverton Bohemians!

What a season it’s been at Yelverton Bohemians Cricket Club! 🏏 From plenty of great cricket and big celebrations to plenty of laughs, smiles and memories along the way, it’s been a fantastic year at the club. We’ve seen our All Stars, Dynamos and Colts enjoying their cricket, some brilliant catches (and a few drops!), plenty of ducks, and lots of hard work from our top coaches, groundskeepers and BBQ heroes. We’ve had amazing support from our supporters, fantastic fundraising that has helped both the club and other charities, and some great teamwork both on and off the pitch. We were also delighted to host the Devon v Cornwall Over 60s, while continuing to make improvements around the club. A huge thank you to everyone who has played, coached, volunteered, supported, fundraised, maintained the ground or simply helped make the season what it was. Here’s to the memories, the people and another brilliant season for the Bohemians! 💙🏏🍻

🏏 Season Complete! 🏏

It was a frustrating end to the league season for Yelverton Bohemians Cricket Club, with all three teams being rained off over the weekend.
That brings our league season to a close, with the 1st XI finishing 4th in D Division West, the 2nd XI finishing 5th in G Division West, and the 3rd XI finishing 4th in H Division West. 👏
A huge well done to everyone who has represented the club this season, and a massive thank you to all our volunteers, supporters and sponsors for their continued support.

Yelverton Bohemians Cricket Club would like to congratulate their Players of the Weekend 👏

Tom Conway scoring an impressive 57 runs for the 2nd XI, while Michael Marais put in an outstanding bowling performance for the 1st XI, taking four wickets for just 18 runs.

Well played to both players for their excellent contributions over the weekend. 👏

YBCC v Comical Entertainment result

YBCC won by 6 wickets

In contrast to the final game of the 2025 season when YBCC were on the brink of promotion, 2026 saw them on the brink of relegation needing a final game win to remain in the upper echelons of the P&D leagues.

YBCC won the toss and put CE in to bat. Some steady bowling and well held catches kept the score on check until D. Roude opened his shoulders scoring 50 before being caught in the deep of Michael Marias. 3 quick wickets from Toby Julyan slowed the scoring rate until a late innings flurry by Kyran Watts (26*) raised the target for YBCC to 145.
Toby Julyan was pick of the bowlers with 3-21 and
Matt Smale with 2-15.

YBCC started their innings with experience and youth with Johnathan Pilgrim and Michael Marias. Having been on English soil for months with a top score of 21, Michael upset the bookies with a boundary laden 50 before succumbing on the boundary.
Michael Marker took a quick brace causing the YBCC massif to draw breath as relegation fears grew. Rob Grove suppressed these concerns with a quick fire 45 before falling to a fine catch by Ashleigh Phillips leaving Archie Hillier and Matt Smale to see the home side across the line for a 6 wicket victory.

Many thanks to Steve Mannell & Matt Petherbridge for umpiring and both teams for a pleasant finale to the season albeit a little dark at the end!

Thanks to all the opposition faced throughout the season for games of cricket in great spirit and general glorious weather.
