Yelvertoft Cricket Club 2nd XI visit Kislingbury Temperance Cricket Club today looking to continue their promotion push.

Four wins from their last five games have pushed the 2s up to third in a hotly contested Division 11W and everything is up for grabs if we can continue our recent form.

Yelvertoft Cricket Club take on Official Loddington & Mawsley Cricket Club at Yelvertoft Village Hall today

The firsts are looking to continue a hot streak that has lifted the team into promotion contention as an avalanche of runs has seen three of our batsmen enter the league's top ten run scorers.

Special congratulations are due to Hemachandran Kalaimani. His innings of 205 for Yelvertoft Cricket Club against St Crispin and Harlestone CC earned Chandru an entry on the Play-Cricket National Honours Board for July.

Chandru's 205 was scored off just 130 balls and included 26 fours and seven sixes.

This mighty knock proved to be the catalyst for a run of big scores and positive results that has seen climb into promotion contention in League Division 6.

Well done Chandru!

Yelvertoft Cricket Club fixtures Saturday 11th July

1st XI come into a tough away match against Barby Cricket Club 2nd XI full of confidence after their cracking 196 run win over St Crispin and Harlestone CC last week. Chandru will be looking to build on his magnificent double hundred that set the tone of that game, and everyone will be giving their all to push on up towards the top of the table.

The 2s are at Yelvertoft Village Hall against Stony Stratford Cricket Club 5th XI and will be just as confident after demolishing table topping Wellingborough Indians Cricket Club and local rivals Long Buckby CC in their two previous matches. Bobby and the boys are pushing for consecutive promotions and are only 9 points off top, although the competitive nature of the division means that they are only 5th in the table!

Wellingborough Indians Cricket Club 3rd XI vs Yelvertoft Cricket Club 2nd XI

The seconds travel to face an unbeaten Wellingborough side today. It will be a tough test, but Bobby and the boys will be pumped up following last week's thrashing of Long Buckby CC and we're sending a strong team so anything could happen!

Whatever happens, it's back to for a cold one at the Knightley Arms, Yelvertoft afterwards!

Weekley & Warkton Cricket Club 2nd XI vs Yelvertoft Cricket Club 1st XI

The firsts travel in search of a bounceback result following last week's defeat. Consistency has been hard to come by this year, with bad results following good throughout the season so far.

Results Roundup

It was a tough weekend for Yelvertoft Cricket Club. Both sides bowled first and dismissed the opposition for reachable targets, but batting proved tough and neither side reached their target.

The firsts lost to Towcestrians Cricket Club firsts by 58 runs and the seconds lost to Northampton Saints 4th XI by 54 runs.

We'll just need to get up, dust ourselves off, and go again next weekend!
