When Teresa first approached me and asked about PT sessions, with a goal of leaning up, she was already a gym goer. However she lacked confidence in her own training, being unsure about a lot of the functions of the machines, and readily admitted she needed pushing a lot more than she was doing in her own workouts.
Another issue Teresa had was regarding her diet, in particular a severe lack structure, opting more often than not for snacks over regular meals.
Over the past 4 weeks, Teresa and I have worked together to change her approach to her training. As well as training with me once a week, she’s also been following programmed sessions I’ve written specifically for her. This has meant that every time Teresa has stepped into a gym over the last month she’s had a plan of action, which has benefited her attitude to training immensely. She’s now a lot more comfortable with weightlifting on her own, and being able to program new exercises for her to try has prevented the workouts getting stale.
After discussing Teresa's diet, I was able to give guidance on how to improve it with some simple changes and we focused on making sure she is eating proper meals on a regular basis and promoting the positives of consistent eating.
Overall, I’m really pleased with the work we’ve done so far! Teresa has leaned up nicely so far, as evidenced by the change in her measurements, her nutrition is in a much better place now, and her gym sessions are far more productive. It’s been a real pleasure being able to introduce some very positive changes into her lifestyle, and I’m excited to see further progression as I continue to coach her.
