Yateley Bowls Club Located in the heart of Yateley this thriving bowls club play in the Aldershot and District Leagues and provides bowls for men, ladies and juniors.

Yateley Bowls club situated in the heart of Yateley, on Yateley green has been running since the late 1960's. It offers coaching and a place to play for anyone taking up the lawn bowls game. At Yateley we have a wide range of players from the junior section, where members are as young as 9 years old through to our oldest member who is 99 this year. We have 3 qualified coaches always on hand to teach and show new members how to play bowls and offer advice. Bowls is no longer a game for the retired person as more and more players are joining under the age of 30 and the emerging top professionals are well under the age of retirement. Why not come down to the club and give Lawn bowls a try?

This weekend was the A&D finals at old dean (in the pouring rain) and we had a team in the fours. Unfortunately due to hoilday and illness Richard and Adrain were unable to play. So the team on the day was Phil L, Alan B, Matt E and James H. We were up against a very strong team from Cove. We were winning for most of the game and going into the last end leading 13-11. Unfortunately however after a great bowl from the Cove skip we dropped a 3 and lost the match 14-13. Even though it was gutting to lose we put in a good performance and did well to get to the final. Also a big thanks to all that came to watch (and took photos). Yateley took over Old Dean and it was great to see. Well done also to Cove for the win. Hopefully we can do one better next year. James

The August inernal triples league has now come to an end, i have been sent this report and photos from the organiser Viv W: "The Club’s August Triples Competition reached its Final on Monday. This year’s theme was cartoon characters and the winners were the BLUEY team comprising Tracey Turner (captain), Lesley Elliott, Mary Hamer, Terry Bates, Dave Lockley and Gary Taplin. Congratulations also to 2nd place Bugs Bunny (captain Les May), 3rd place Peppa Pig (captain Monica Bligh) and 4th place Scooby Doo (captain Elaine Taylor). As always an enjoyable competition and thanks to everyone involved."
Well done to everyone and well done to Viv for all she has done for this league which was enjoyed by so many, she has done a brilliant job. James

Last night was the A&D pairs semi final at farnborough, were Adrian B and James H were playing a pair from Old Dean. Unfortunately we were beat comfortably after not a very exciting display (let's put it that way). Good luck to them in the final. Semi finals in our first year playing as a pair is an achievement. Big thanks to everyone who came to watch we really appreciated it, even though the bowls didn't show it 🤣. Thanks to Lesley E for the photo. Still have the fours final to look forward to!!!! James

Yesterday was the last all day internal Competition down at the club the Two Wood Plate. After a long day of bowling the semi-finals were contested by Adrian B/Sarah B vs Tracey T/Ken W and Barry C/Phil t vs Kevin S/Frank M. Congratulations to Tracey T/Ken W and Kevin S/Frank M on reaching the final to be played over finals weekend. It was an all Yateley A&D district rinks semi final played at Mytchett. It was (Adrians Rink) Phil L, Richard C, Adrian B and James H v (Steves rink)Derrick L, Paul W (in place of Steve k) Mike E and Ian P. It was a very close game with only a few shots in it for most of the game, until Adrians rink came from behind to win the last 6 ends and pick up a 4 on the second to last end. This helped seal the victory and will now play in the final on August 29th. Well done to all that took part, and thank you to all that came to watch. Yateley did take over Mychett. Thank you to Lesley E for the photos. Another semi final on Monday for Adrian and James at Farnborough. Hope to see some of you down there. Come on the Yateley!!! James

Last night was the last league game and yateley A needed a win to go up and they got a very tight 3-2 win which means Promotion to the Premier division. District semi final detail confirmed!!!!
Yateley members are in two semi finals this year. The first is the fours semi final which is Phil L, Richard C, Adrian B And James H v Derrick L, Steve K, Mike E and Ian P. This will take place on the 12th of August at Mytchett Bc at 6.15.
The second semi final is the pairs, this will be Adrian B and James H taking on a pair from Old Dean. This will be played at Farnborough Bc on the 17th August at 6pm. Please also see full semi final schedule below.
Any support would be more then welcome and very much appreciated. Come on Yateley!!!! James

An all district Yateley fours semi final!!!!
Tonight Phil L, Richard C , Adrian B and James H were at home to a team from Mytchett and after being 16-8 down after 10 ends, came back to win 25-20. Which means they will face Derrick L, Steve K, Mike E and Ian p in the semi final. Which means its a Lott derby in the semi finals!!!! What a game to look forward to. James

This weekend at the club was the open triples with nearly 50 members taking part. Today saw the semi finals which were won by Brian B, Sharon S ,Barry C and Sandra M , Mary A and and Ian P. There was some very good bowling and some very close games. These two triples will now play in the final on finals day. Thanks to Adrain B and Tracey T and Bob t for organising the event and also Tracey for the photos. James
