Sedgemoor Open 2026 – The Full Report
The 2026 Sedgemoor Open delivered a standout day of Target Sprint action, with sunshine, a buzzing atmosphere, and brilliant performances from Novice athletes right through to GB Pathway competitors. Sedgemoor and Yate Outdoor Sports Complex once again proved the perfect hosts, offering a fast track, a well run range, with great facilities and viewing for supporters.
A strong field of Youth Women opened the day, with Burntwood athletes sweeping the podium: Gold – Matilda Mae Matthews, Silver – Lauren Cox, Bronze – Adele Johns. Adele’s gritty final lap earned her a well deserved podium spot.
In the Youth Men’s category, Burntwood kept the momentum going: Gold – Jack Kidd
The Junior Women brought one of the day’s most exciting races. The Latham Roberts sisters (Sedgemoor & Pathway) delivered another thrilling head to head, swapping the lead throughout. Gold – Beccy Latham Roberts, Silver – Lizzie Latham Roberts (with an impressive MCT time), Bronze – Freya Dodimead (Pathway). These three athletes really set the pace for the rest of the day.
The Junior Men followed with a fiercely contested race with a commanding performance and consistent pacing: Gold – Nathaniel Salvatore (Wales & Pathway), Silver – Cameron Ayers (Sedgemoor), Bronze – Harry Sims (Sedgemoor)
In the Senior Men’s race, tactics and pacing took centre stage: Gold – Adam Revell (Pathway), Silver – Jamie Allen, Masters. (Sedgemoor)
The Novice race delivered some of the day’s most inspiring moments. Rafael Rodrigues Sancaster (Sedgemoor), after just one day of training, competed with remarkable confidence to claim Novice Gold — a standout achievement for a brand new athlete.
In the women’s Novice category, Joanne Dulson Cox (Burntwood) powered to Novice Gold, showcasing the determination and potential that define the sport’s grassroots.
The day wrapped up with the fast paced Mixed Pair Relay, packed with teamwork and excitement: Gold – Nate Salvatore & Mari Pritchard, Silver – Tabitha Rollins & Freya Dodimead, Bronze – Cameron Ayers & Beccy Latham Roberts
