🏏YCC SEASON FINALE🏏

🎤 Ending the season on a high note 🎤

Rich has been down the club today setting up for tomorrow evening’s karaoke night. Whether you fancy getting on the mic, popping down for a drink, or you’re only there to hear YCC’s resident crooner Dhruv Wadehra bless us with his dulcet tones again, this was undoubtedly the highlight of the social calendar last year and is not one to be missed!

Dale takes the 1s this weekend with Cracky back to his role as director of rounders. The 1s will look to put in a good performance to end the season with a range of outcomes still possible but needing other results to go our way.

Monty has named a strong side to travel to RA in their final outing. Slabhead is in fine fettle at the moment, and the Wilkinsons have returned from their oriental excursions for one last run out this year

🏏YCC WEEKEND PREVEIW🏏

Tomorrow the 1s welcome Normanby Hall to Leven Road. TC and Dale are back from holiday as we look to finish the season strongly.

2s are off to Northallerton and will aim to carry on from good performances in 2 rain affected games last weekend.

3s host Hartlepool 4s on Sunday in their penultimate game of the season.

Here’s how we line up for tomorrow’s Hundred final!

The last time we made it to finals day was in 2009, where we fell agonisingly short by one run against Stokesley. YCC legend Kenny Crack was in the side that day and will no doubt be proud watching his son lead out a homegrown 1st XI as we aim to go one better this time round.

The boys have put in some great performances to get this far and would really appreciate your support as we take on Seaton Carew for some silverware!

🏏 League teams for this weekend 🏏

With TC and Dale away this weekend, the brains trust of Timmy and Wilson are at the wheel tomorrow as the 3rd placed 1s travel to 4th placed Hartlepool. The forecast looks ominous but fingers crossed the rain stays away at Park Drive, as our firsts make their return to one of the nicest venues in the league after more than a decade.

Meanwhile the 2s host Bedale. Gaz is back fresh from his holidays and no doubt eager to get the dukes in hand under grey skies.

On Monday the 2s welcome Guisborough to Leven Road. Second team skipper Luke is ineligible for this rescheduled fixture so Sandy takes the reins of a team with plenty of YCC’s junior section turning out.

Ahead of Sunday’s final, we’d like to share some info for anyone heading down to cheer on the boys!

Entry into Thornaby CC for the day will be £2/£1 concessions (cash only), and with a full array of cricket on offer you’ll definitely be getting your money’s worth!

The main bar will be open at TCC, alongside a separate can bar (please note only alcohol purchased at the ground may be consumed) - with The Shed (adjacent to the main bar) serving breakfast options ahead of 9:30’s junior final alongside hot food options all day.

At 12 we take on Seaton Carew for the div 2/3 title in what is sure to be an absolute cracker! Team to follow.

The next game is between Thornaby and Bedale, and we wish former Yarm man Dan Edwards all the best as he aims for div 1 silverware.

Middlesbrough vs Richmondshire round off the day with the premier division final at 5pm.

Parking at Thornaby CC is only available for players and blue badge holders so please note the final slide showing the array of off site parking.

It’s all to play for in the race for the red/orange caps in the div 2/3 Hundred.

Bishop Auckland’s Jacob Dinger and Dylan Smith lead the way with 216 runs and 10 wickets respectively, with the remainder of the top 5 made up of Yarm and Seaton Carew players, eager to top the charts with some strong performances in the final!

As mentioned, only players and blue badge holders will have access to parking at Thornaby on the day. There’s plenty of additional parking adjacent to the ground just a short distance away for any supporters heading down!
