Wymondham AC Wymondham Athletic Club (AKA WAC for obvious reasons) - competitive & inclusive all rolled into one! Our race calendar includes a number of team events.

Wymondham Athletic Club (referred to as WAC for obvious reasons) is primarily a road running club, with members participating in road running races all over the UK (and the occasional overseas marathon and half marathon), but we also take part in off-road/trail runs and the local cross country leagues. WAC caters for all standards, from beginner (our only requirement is that you can run 5k - eg a

Parkrun - without stopping) to advanced. We pride ourselves on helping and encouraging our members to achieve their running goals and sharing in their sense of achievement when they do. We meet Monday evenings (except Bank Holidays) at Ketts Park Community Centre, Harts Farm Road, Wymondham NR18 0UR from 6.30pm. Announcements are at 6.45pm and we are out running by 7.00pm. Sessions are geared to match all abilities and are coordinated and supervised by our team of experienced and qualified coaches.

Catching up on a couple of weekends of race action, in what were very warm conditions.

We had WACers racing distances from the 400m at Biggleswade track, to the marathon in Edinburgh and Cape Town.

Lou Vtwo achieved a big PB in the Edinburgh Marathon and Sara Shorten, Gillian Snook and Clare Suter ran PBs in the half, with Katie Whitmore and Lyn Lyn running age group PBs. A successful trip across the border.

Elsewhere Todd Lake ran a speedy lap of the track in Biggleswade to get another PB. Well done Todd.

Our star chaser Keith Blake picked up another world major star in Cape Town and another beautiful medal!

Meanwhile, over in Georgia, Akash Chilleystone PB'd at the Poti Half Marathon. Awesome running Akash.

Elsewhere, we had runners at the Holt 10k, Hatfield Broad Oak 10k, Maastrict 10k, Newmarket Half and Alex Moore Festival.

Congratulations, finally, to Mat Gilbert on his first PB in a WAC vest, in the individual 5k at the Alex Moore event.

Forty of our runners took on the final race in the Great Yarmouth Road Runners 5 mile series, with 7 PBs and 3 age group PBs. Congratulations to Gareth Seville, Harriet Carr, Clare Suter, Gillian Snook, Michelle Sadler, Sharon Gardner and Laura Seville on your new PBs and to Mark Armstrong, Mark Banfield and Amanda Gray on new age group PBs.

Last weekend we had a mix of local, national and international races, with runners at the Brooklyn Half in the US, the Maverick 7k in the Cotswolds, the Colchester Zoo 10k and the Zig Zag Birthday run (covering the half marathon and 20 mile distances).

The big local race was the Fighter 5k, where club legend Eva Osborne scooped another British record 👏. Kevin Simpson, Becky Stringer and Laura Seville also ran PBs, with Chris Bullock achieving an age group PB. Well done guys!

It's been a very busy couple of weekends for our WACers, who have been all over the country, tackling a range of distances.

We had runners in King's Lynn, Birmingham, Milan, Thorpeness, Worthing, Breckland, Norwich, Northamptonshire, Banham, Oulton Broad and Aylsham.

Congratulations to Sara Shorten, David Ward, Becky Stringer, Laura Seville, Charlie Wallis and Simone Hornby on new 10k PBs and Lisa Kemp, Katie Whitmore and Lisa Rodgers on 10k age group PBs.

Laura Seville also achieved a new 5k PB, alongside Sapphire Shaw.

Gareth Seville got a new PB over 1500m on the track, with Todd Lake achieving tracks PBs at both 800m and 3000m.

Huge kudos also to Lian Penson on her first 50m race and to Louise Stevens on her first 50k - both at the Boghopper Holy Trail event.

With the final race in the Great Yarmouth Road Runners 5 mile series taking place tonight, here's a rather belated look back at race 2.

It was a windy one with another impressive WAC turnout. We've already celebrated Eva Osborne smashing the British and club record, but we also had seven of our runners achieving PBs and four setting new age group PBs.

Well done to Peter Morgan, Dani Gilbert, Hannah John, Gillian Snook, Amanda Gray, Zoe Griffiths and Simone Hornby on your new PBs and Mark Banfield, James Heaney, Katie Whitmore and Lorna Jermyn on new age group PBs!

London Marathon weekend is always a big one on the club calendar, and this year we had 19 of our WACers taking part. We ...

London Marathon weekend is always a big one on the club calendar, and this year we had 19 of our WACers taking part. We had some great performances, with Jo Delf, Christina Sharpe, Lian Penson and Zac Sowter coming away with new PBs, in warm conditions. Congratulations guys and well done to all of our runners. Kudos also to the support crew, who were on course with gels, drinks, massage rollers and loud voices to help our runners round. Nik Greenough also unofficially completed the course backwards overnight.

Elsewhere we had Matt Webster take on the Three Peaks Race, in Yorkshire, on another hot day. It was his second time at the event and he finished 30 minutes quicker than his previous attempt. Great running Matt.

Finally, we had runners take on the 10k, 20k and 30k Little Lifts Trail races, at the beautiful Barningham Estate. Well done to all of our runners.

A huge shout out to WAC legend Eva Osborne, who not only won the V75 age category at Great Yarmouth Road Runners 5 miler this week but smashed our club W85 record and the British record 🇬🇧.

Eva is one of our founding members and is an inspiration to everyone at Wymondham AC. Congratulations Eva!

Last weekend was a big one on the race calendar and there were some big performances from our runners.

We had Claire Brown, Alexandra Ely and Louise McDonnell representing England, in the Masters International race within the Manchester Marathon. Congratulations on the England vests ladies - although we think you look better in club colours!

In Guernsey, Harriet Carr stormed to victory in the women's race and smashed the course record. Well done Harriet!

Meanwhile, Andy Baxter was back at another ultra at the Chiltern Hills 50k. Ben Beynon achieved a new PB at the Newport Marathon and Elise Aho took on the Norfolk Marathon.

We had loads of great runs at the Manchester Marathon and course records galore at the ZigZag Roman Ramble, including Dani Gilbert in the marathon.

Runners also took on half marathons in Holkham (well done to Boris Smith on a new PB there), the Norfolk half (PB kudos to Clare Suter), Northstowe, and the Paradise Coast.

Well done everyone. Surely this weekend will be quieter...

A look back to a little over a week ago, when 30 of our WACers made the trip to Great Yarmouth for the 5 mile series. Not sure if it's Great Yarmouth Road Runners' hospitality, or the lure of chips, but these races are always popular with our runners!

Congratulations to Josh Brown, Sara Shorten, Gillian Snook, Laura Seville and Lou Vtwo on new PBs and to Katie Whitmore, Lorna Jermyn and Emma Jaggs on new age group PBs.

It's been a busy couple of weeks for our WACers, with runners travelling some serious miles, to run some serious miles.

Last weekend, we had Juliette Watkinson, Adam Baker and Mark Armstrong at the 2 Oceans Ultra, in South Africa. All three had brilliant runs on what sounds like a beautiful but challenging course.

In the thick of marathon season, we also had Craig Skipper, Keith Blake and Hannah Grobbelaar take on the Paris Marathon, and Tom Larner and Rob Deacon complete the Brighton Marathon. Meanwhile, Heath Alexander-Bew had a great run at the Boston Marathon, in Lincolnshire, and Gavin Hall steamed round the Steam to Coast Trail Marathon. Well done to our marathoners and congratulations to Tom on a new PB.

Also in Brighton, Charlie Wallis achieved a new PB in the 10k and ran the family one mile race. Great running Charlie!

We also had runners at the Boston Half Marathon, Fakenham 5k and, last Friday, at the UEA track for the one mile race.

Last but not least, we had three of our runners dancing and running their way round the Utrect Urban Trail 10k in what looked like a very fun run.
