It is with a heavy heart and great regret that we must advise you that the 2023 edition of the NBUltra is to be postponed until July 6th 2024.

The event sadly had very low pre-registered participation numbers, and more dropouts over the weekend making the event sadly no longer viable to hold.

We are working on the option of both a Non-Stop and Teams format for 2024, and all pre-registered participants for this year have been notified via email (please check your emails...)

Entries for 2024 will be open on 1st November 2023.

We're very sorry for having to make this decision, but we and some participants we've already spoken too believe it is for the best for the event and the sport, in being able to provide a great event with good levels of competition.

We hope to see you at the Ultra in 2024.

BIG NEWS...!

In order to make the Norfolk Broads Ultra even more exciting, to encourage an element of 'Team Racing' and to allow clubs to get together and work together on the water in order to further promote teamwork and cohesiveness... the has now been declared 'DRAFT LEGAL...! :-)

Here at Norfolk SUP Racing - we've always thought that a race like the NBULTRA could be even more exciting and appeal to more paddlers if an element of 'teamwork' could be implemented and for the potential for paddlers to work together to each others strengths and weaknesses.

As of 2023 - Paddlers will now have the legal ability to create 'draft-trains' and work together in the hope that they, or their teammates will be victorious at the end of the 78km Ultra....!

Thinking of how teams in cycling (either their own teams - or a collection of 'randoms') all working together with perhaps their own jobs such as 'pace-makers', specialist 'sprinters' or general 'domestics' can assist each other, assist their 'star' paddler or quite simply asset each other get further up the field by working together and 'drafting' each other - makes for very exciting racing indeed...!

So, if you've been on the fence about entering the NBULTRA this year - then life has just got a bit more exciting....!

What an amazing weekend at the - with some awesome times and some even more awesome stories from the paddlers paddles....!

After a day of sifting the results (due to a little technical error) - here are the results and times for all who completed both the Two-Day and Non-Stop versions of the 2022 Norfolk Broads Ultra....!

So, for all of you that completed the courses and races that you were in.... you may now big yourselves up and shout......

'PADDLED IT MATE....!'

Well done too you all - wether you finished or not, you all gave it a go and getting to the start line is sometimes the hardest thing....!
