Chelmsford Triathlon Club are very grateful to Finish Line Fund for their generous grant that has funded level 1 British Triathlon Coach qualifications for Richard and Scott. This has enabled us to increase our coaching numbers to keep the training sessions safe, fun and varied.

Last night we held our annual club picnic, a chance for everyone to come together, relax and bond……….especially after our event!

We were blessed with glorious weather and the and fun was had by all.

One of our recent Jack Petchey Foundation winners Jude decided to spend his award by treating his fellow athletes to a well deserved ice cream 😋. Thank you Molly's Lollys - Ice Cream Van for coming along and making this possible.

Following on from our earlier post we managed to bag some podiums yesterday and we also handed out a special award.

Congratulations to all our Chelmsford Tri Club athletes that competed yesterday, you all smashed it and you should all be proud of yourselves, we certainly are!

We also presented our Ash Nicholson Endeavour Award which is presented to the athlete the marshals feel is displaying courage or sportsmanship.

This year the winner was Etholle Crofton from Hoddesdon Tri Club for showing great courage in the open water and over coming her fears. We were fortunate enough to have Ash on hand to present the trophy 💚🖤

Wow wow wow, what a day we had yesterday hosting our award winning Chelmsford Discovery Junior Triathlon event welcoming a record 228 athletes! Included in that number were 38 of our own junior squad which was an amazing turnout 💚🖤

This year we had perfect weather for racing and it was wonderful to welcome athletes and spectators from the East, South East and London regions plus other athletes from around the UK. We loved seeing you all and we hope you enjoyed the event and the day just as much as we did.

There are a lot of thank yous and I hope I capture them all, here goes;

A huge thank you goes to our event team, volunteers, marshalls, coaches and committee members for making this event possible. This event is a year in the planning and days of set up, it’s an awesome show of teamwork and dedication.

A massive thank you ARU Writtle for allowing us to use their fabulous lake and grounds, it’s what makes our event special.

Trophies and medals, weren’t they fabulous?! A big big thank you to Daniel Watson sustainableengravings . He sources the sustainable materials and makes all of our trophies and medals.

Thank you to our chip timers Chip Time Solutions.

Thank you to our coffee van Cafe2U UK | Chelmsford, Essex for keeping the marshals nicely hydrated and making sure there was a yummy selection of treats for everyone.

Finally our Technical Officials Debby and Elaine, thank you for coming and we loved having you with us and helping make the day run smoothly for the athletes.

On another note, we want to make our event as sustainable as possible so, our coffee van, is more than happy to serve your coffee in a reusable cup if you bring one along to help reduce waste.

Today, 11 of our athletes may the trip to Aldwickbury School for the TriForce Juniors Triathlon.

It was hot hot hot but as usual our athletes performed brilliantly.
