More training in one sport doesn’t always mean better results.
Early over-specialisation can lead to injuries, burnout, and stalled progress.

At RPM Fitness we focus on building strong, confident, well-rounded individuals through:

(45 Minute Sessions)

Plus once a youth is enrolled on our training sessions, they will gain unlimited access to the gym (parent needs to be a member of the gym). Memberships starting from £25 a month

Meet the newest member to our coaching team..

‘ Hi I’m Taylor! I hold a BSc (Hons) in Applied Sport and Exercise Science and I’m currently studying an MSc in Clinical Exercise Science. I also have a Level 3 Personal Trainer qualification, Level 3 Exercise Referral, and Level 2 Swimming Teacher.

My experience includes working within NERS, supporting a health and wellbeing scheme at a professional football club, swim teaching across all age groups, gaining experience in gym environments, and delivering group coaching sessions.

I enjoy climbing and anything where I can see clear progression over time. I’m really interested in Japan and its culture, and it’s somewhere I plan to spend more time. I’m a big football fan and have a season ticket at Wrexham AFC. I also enjoy endurance-based challenges like triathlons and HYROX events, pushing myself over longer distances.

Outside of that, I enjoy the simple things like spending time with friends and family and getting out in nature’.

Taylor is currently taking our small group Friday Strong sessions and looking to help members and non members with his personal training services.

Looks like we have plenty of inspirational members really challenging themselves atm… 💪🏻 big shout out to Coach Taylor who completed 13 laps of the Made of Steel event at the week end totalling 70k. Marg completed the She ultra the previous weekend in 7hrs 34mins!! and , , all 3 completing the hybrid X stride event.

If any other members have challenges coming up, we would love to know about them !

A big shout out to four of our members who took part in the mixed couples Hyrox event in Glasgow last week. It was Harry & Emilys first Hyrox event, next one is in a couple of months time they head out to Berlin looking to improve on their impressive debut time of 1 hour 16 minutes 💪. A twelve minute PB for Marg & Jim 👏 , next month Marg takes on the She ultra, Jim gets to take a month off from competition. If any our members are training for any other challenges, please let us know, we would love know and help with your training.

Over the years at RPM, teams of our trainers and members have entered quite a few running and endurance type challenges. 💪

We thought it was time to try the current trend of Hyrox, Deka, hybrid X type of event.

The hybrid X on February 7th at Eirias Park in Colwyn Bay was the chosen event for the group of six from RPM.

Andy partnered with Matty, and both have been training consistently recently with at least 2-3 classes a week at RPM and 1 steady run.

Karl teamed up with his son Keane, who both train regularly. Keane is new to high intensity gym training but had a good base fitness from his Thai boxing.

Then there was Sam and RPM co-owner Gav, both leaning towards running and longer style endurance being their strength… but always up for a challenge.

The plan was to start steady and build… however within 10 seconds of starting off on the rower, the plan was out of the window! 😳

45 year old Gav was soon consumed by 20 year Gav’s ego trying to keep up with the 6 foot 5 monster next to him. Game plan straight out the window!

Gav switched with Sam after 1:50 in and realised both Karl & Andrew had done the same. They were all in the red together! After the 8 mins on the rowing they had two minutes off and straight on to the sandbag carry challenge.

Even though they all suffered again, the 3 teams from RPM took the top 3 places in their heat.

All those farmers, goblet walks from the RPM circuit classes came into good use. Then on to ski, bike then shuttle runs, much to Sam’s delight, then finishing on the sled push.

Gav said “When the MC started his final 30 seconds countdown it felt like a lifetime but we all got there!”

Karl added:
“I would definitely recommend anyone that is thinking about entering one of these events and trains 2 - 3 x a week with circuit & strength type workouts to go for it! Note to self and every other bloke over 35… 3 sessions a week of Padel is not optimum training!” 🙈

It will be starting on Friday 13th for 4 weeks to align with the current 6 week block. If you would like to reserve your child’s space, closing date will be Tuesday 10th at 2pm
