⚠️ GYM CLOSURE NOTICE ⚠️

Due to the extreme temperatures forecast, Olympus Gymnastics Club will be closed on Wednesday 24th June and Thursday 25th June.

Unfortunately, despite our best efforts, the temperatures within the gym are expected to reach levels that would make training unsafe and uncomfortable for both gymnasts and staff.

We appreciate that this may cause some inconvenience and understand that many gymnasts will be disappointed to miss training. However, the health, safety and wellbeing of our members, coaches and families must always come first, and we feel this is the most responsible decision given the circumstances.

We are currently exploring additional measures to help manage temperatures within the gym during future periods of hot weather, including investing in large industrial fans and/or other cooling solutions to improve the training environment for our members.

We will continue to monitor the weather closely and we will provide any further updates, if required.

🤸‍♀️ Meet the Team Monday 🤸‍♀️

It was Jacob ❤️

Jacob is one of our Development Coaches and an Elite Gymnast here at Olympus! He is our little celebrity in the gymnastics world. As he has competed in the 2022 Commonwealth Games, becoming the youngest Welsh gymnast to finish in the top 10 all round and has recently been reselected to represent Wales at the 2026 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow 🥳🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿

Some of his recent achievements include British Silver Medallist in the Masters Floor Final at the 2025 British Championships and Men’s Welsh Senior All-Around Champion in 2025 and Welsh floor champion in 2026 and many more!!

Alongside training for the Commonwealth games, Jacob also works for Welsh Gymnastics as the North Wales Development officer and on top of that, he manages to coach too, Inspiring the next generation!

Olympus Gymnastics Club is incredibly proud to announce and congratulate our very own Jacob Edwards on his selection to represent Wales at the 2026 Glasgow Commonwealth Games! 🎉🤸‍♂️

This outstanding achievement is a testament to Jacob's dedication, hard work, perseverance, and passion for the sport. From countless hours of training in the gym to reaching this international stage for a second time, Jacob is a huge inspiration to our entire ogc family.

We can't wait to watch him and the rest of Team Wales compete!

It was Elisha ❤️

Elisha is one of our Recreational Coaches. She has been with us since she was just 5 years old. She has represented North Wales on numerous occasions. Elisha is currently studying at Liverpool John Moores University studying Physical Education so you might not see her all the time but she still pops in as and when she can to coach and have a catch up.

Huge Congratulations are in order to both Ellie and Lottie who dusted off their handguards this weekend and competed in this years Adult British Championships.

Lottie came 3rd on Vault, 2nd on bars, 5th on beam, 7th in floor and came 6th overall 😍👏

Ellie came 2nd on vault, 1st on bars, 2nd on beam, 5th on floor and 2nd overall 💪🥈😍
