Ellesmere’ run of bad results unfortunately continued today as they got beaten by a fairly organised Welshpool side.
Ellesmere seemed to take too long to settle into the game and didn’t appear as organised as they have been in previous games.

The focus now switches to training over the next two weeks - with a well deserved break next Sunday

The ladies were back on home turf for the second week in a row as they faced Dawley Town.

Ellesmere had a strong start to the game, pressing hard and winning challenges which lead to Kate Tilston scoring the first goal of the game after a great run up the pitch.

Unfortunately Dawley equalized in quick succession scoring a rebound from inside the box.

Ellesmere re-composed themselves and came together as a team, looking for the passes and playing for each other. Their second goal was a fantastic first time strike from Nikki Bradley off the back of an accurate over the top ball from Sophie Bayliss.

Dawley were quick to stop The Rangers lead by scoring a long shot into the top corner of the net.

HT - 2-2

The second half proved to be a tough battle for both teams with some fierce end-to-end play. Both teams created opportunities and played in the space but neither team could capitalise on their chances.

Ellesmere's winner came from a well taken penalty by Nikki Bradley in the closing minutes of the game which came from a questionable tackle by Dawley inside the box.

A great and well deserved result for the ladies today which takes them to third in the League!
