🟡⚪️2ND PLACE SECURED⚪️🟡

After an incredible run of 7 unbeaten games, picking up 19 points from a possible 21, the U13s secured 2nd place by 2 points while scoring over 100 league goals in 21 games — only bettered by the league champions.

Harry W led the line with an outstanding 42 goals and 10 assists in 21 matches, while Krash K dominated midfield with 19 goals and 11 assists.

The squad effort has been incredible all season, with 10 different goalscorers and 13 players registering assists — showing the unity and development this group has built over the last 3 years.

Going into the game, anything but defeat secured 2nd place, but Bellevue had no intention of settling for a draw.

Archie R opened the scoring on 14’ with his 21st goal of the season before Harry W doubled the lead on 22’ after some excellent passing play. Deeside Dragons responded with 2 quick goals in 6 minutes to make it 2-2, but just before half-time Connor J lifted a ball over midfield for Charlie J, who smashed home an unbelievable strike from beyond halfway to restore the lead.

Bellevue took control in the second half. Harry W ran from his own half and nutmegged the keeper for the 4th, before Charlie J struck again from 20 yards to make it 5-2. Riley H then picked out Harry W at the back post to complete his 8th hat-trick of the season.

A huge congratulations to all the lads, and thank you to all the volunteers, families and supporters for everything this season.

🟡⚪️U13 RESULT⚪️🟡

When the two sides met back in October, it ended in a comfortable 9–1 victory for Bellevue. But with 2nd place on the line this time around, we knew it would be far from easy.

Bellevue started fast and could easily have been out of sight in the opening 10 minutes, striking the woodwork four or five times without finding the net. Deeside then had a slice of luck and took the lead on 10 minutes, but Bellevue responded immediately. From the restart, pressure forced a clearance that rebounded off Harry W — who may now have scored with every part of his body — and into the net, bringing up his milestone of 50 goals in all competitions this season.

On 16 minutes, a Rhys W corner was met perfectly by Charlie J, whose header put the U13s ahead. Bellevue continued to press, and on 28 minutes a loose clearance dropped to Krash K, who thundered a half-volley into the net.

Flynn M, whose clearance last week somehow turned into an assist, went one better this time. On 33 minutes, his clearance beat everyone, bounced through, and rolled into the net for his first Bellevue goal. Straight from the restart, Deeside looked to respond, but Krash K produced an incredible through ball from inside his own half that sliced through the defence for Harry W to chase onto and calmly nick past the keeper.

The second half saw more near misses, with the woodwork rattled again and several efforts drifting narrowly wide. Then on 54 minutes, Krash K capped off the match in style with another long-range strike that found the bottom corner to seal the game.

Thursday sees Bellevue return to Deeside for the final game of the season, where anything but defeat will secure 2nd place.

🟡⚪️U13 RESULT⚪️🟡

The saying goes, “Can they do it on a cold, rainy night in Stoke?” — but last night the question was whether the U13s could do it on a windy Wednesday evening in Saltney.

After a convincing 7–2 win on Saturday, Bellevue were hoping for more of the same last night.

Playing into the wind during the first half made chances difficult to come by, but Bellevue eventually broke through on 32 minutes. A shot from Krash K was saved, only for Rhys W to react quickest and tap home the rebound.

Straight from the restart, Bellevue piled on more pressure. Harry W found Rhys W in space on the left-hand side, and after shifting the ball onto his right foot, Rhys curled a superb effort into the top corner to double the lead before half-time.

Broughton came out strongly in the second half and by the 49th minute had battled back to level the game at 2–2. Both teams continued to push against the difficult conditions in search of all three points.

On 70 minutes, Flynn M cleared the ball over the Broughton defence, and Harry W reacted quickest, heading past the advancing goalkeeper to restore Bellevue’s lead. The advantage lasted just a minute, however, as Broughton capitalised on a loose ball to make it 3–3.

There was still time for one final opportunity, but an outstanding save from the Broughton goalkeeper denied Bellevue a dramatic late winner, meaning the points were shared.

The draw keeps Bellevue in 4th place, with four points needed from the final two games to secure second place. Next up is a trip to Deeside Dragons on Saturday.
