At Marford Karate Club, martial arts is not just about fighting and sweating … For us, it’s about character development and self-improvement. It’s about challenging our physical and mental boundaries, improving our balance and coordination, learning traditional karate techniques, increasing our self-confidence and finally becoming a better person through martial arts! We focus on discipline, humility and respect along with fun martial arts training. Classes are held after school midweek (Wed at 18:30 until 20:00), where we teach basic techniques (kihon), karate forms (kata), and fun person-to-person sparring. With adults we teach the same curriculum as the children but with added emphasis on self-defence and more “hands on” techniques. On Sunday’s we hold a Karate Fitness class from 10:30 am to 11am. Then from 11am until midday we have an adults and childrens karate class. Pop in to the Community Centre on Pant Lane and take a look!

Why not try something new this year? Shotokan Karate Marford has been running since 1981 at the community centre on Pant Lane. From 7 to 70 we cater for all ages. Come and have a go for free on Wednesday evenings or Sunday mornings!

Time to burn off the Covid kilograms! Karate at Marford Community Centre starts again on Sunday 2nd August 10:30am to 12:00 noon. We will training at a safe distance. Hand sanitiser will be available and you are welcome to wear a face mask (although this is not compulsory). Any questions, just drop us a message! Hope to be training with you soon.
