Important Update

Hello all, it’s been a while since I last posted and I know some of you are keen to know what is going to happen in September.

Unfortunately I’m very sorry to say that classes will not be starting back and we will not be reopening. I’m gutted to make this decision but a lot of things have changed since we closed in March 2020 and I’m not able to start back.

I want to thank all members past and present, our fabulous parents, guardians and supporters for all your help and support over the years - I have loved every second of working with everyone and have some great memories of our time in classes and shows.

We’ve been very lucky to have held our classes in the Garden Village Institute and I am extremely grateful to them for their help & support over the years. Also to everyone who gets involved in our annual shows and gives their time to help put on a show and raise money for some very worthwhile charities.

I’m so sorry that this is not the news you were waiting for but hope you understand. It’s not goodbye as I know that I will definitely see you around whether that be in other shows, classes, auditions or performances.

Once again thank you for everything.

KD Academy’s Creative Week has come to an end, they have been great to see but don’t worry if you’ve missed them as you can still find all the classes online until the end of February.

Definitely worth finding them on YouTube and taking part in, there’s something there for children of all ages to take part in and to keep them occupied over lockdown.

Our friends down in Cambridgeshire, KD Academy, are offering a whole week of FREE online classes in Singing, Dancing, Choreography, Creative Reading & Writing!

All taught by industry professionals with sessions suitable for a range of ages from Nursery, to Primary and Secondary age children. So why not take a look & get involved!

Hello All!

I hope you are all well and keeping safe. I’m sorry that things have been a little quiet on this page recently but I know you’ll all be aware of the current situation and obviously due to this, at the moment, we are unable to reopen.

I was hoping that tonight would have been our first night back but hopefully in the near future we will be able to announce a starting date.

In the meantime look after each, stay safe & l look forward to seeing you all again, as soon as we can.

Happy Half Term Everyone!

First of all, apologies that things have been a little quiet on here but we have been working hard behind the scenes to get things in place for our return.

Secondly a huge Thank You for all of the support you have given over the past few months, all your messages and comments really show what a great dance family we have.

The aim was to look at restarting after half term but unfortunately due to changes that have recently happened we have taken the decision to delay this - Really gutted to do this but we do have some good news and we can confirm that classes will recommence on Monday 11th January 2021 🥳 🎉 🎊 🥳

It may seem like this is a while away but it’s only just over 10 weeks which I know will fly by and before you know it we will be back again!

There will be some slight changes to class times & procedures and we will let you have all the information in plenty of time and of course if you have any questions in the meantime then please do feel free to get in touch and drop me a message.

Thank you all again. Keep an eye out here for further updates and we look forward to seeing & welcoming you all back in the new year.

Hello!

It’s time to put together the Rain Medley we’ve been working on for the past few weeks & it’s also going to be the last video of this “Lockdown” Season. Over the past 6 months we have worked on a warm up, a time step tutorial and 10 routines - that’s 33 videos, totalling just over 8 hours, with over 500 likes and close to 5000 views!

So what’s happening next? The next couple of weeks are going to be taken up with getting all the relevant things in place so we can make a safe return to classes in the middle of September (date TBC) - we think that waiting a couple of weeks into the school term before starting is a good idea to give everyone a chance to settle back into it and not be to too tired from it all.

There will be some changes to ensure everyone’s safety & to ensure we are complying with current guidelines and as soon as I have details of these (and a start date) I will be announcing them here, so keep your eyes peeled!

So for the final time onto the routine - please make sure you have space to move in and ensure that you take part safely with the routine and work to your level. Don’t forget to use the warm up video posted (pinned to the top of the RSSD page) to get you nice and warm, so you don’t injure yourself and are ready to start.

You don’t have to have tap shoes to do this and can easily do it in normal shoes or bare feet but please do make sure that you are careful as you learn the steps and do the choreo and if you are wearing tap shoes make sure you are using them on a surface that won’t get damaged by your shoes and make sure you have permission to use your tap shoes in the space where you are learning.

I hope that you have enjoyed taking part with these regardless of wether you’ve done all of them or just the odd few. It’s been great being able to keep you dancing and I can’t wait to see you all and get back to classes.

Over the next few weeks I’ll repost some of the previous routines to keep you busy & to make sure you can but in the mean time if you have any questions please don’t hesitate to contact me.
