WEEKEND MATCH RESULTS:

1st Team Travel to The Rock to take on a young Cefn Druids side in there 2nd Competitive Game in the NEWFA Trophy.

Not Much really happen in the first half for both teams only a goal each.
2nd Half was the better Half of the 2 as this had 7 goals in, With inside the opening 5 minutes Druids took the lead to go 2-1, Unfortunately that lastes less than a minute as Skippy Fetch it back to 2-2..

7mins later Druids Scored another to make it 3-2 through a sloppy mistake which lads then lost there heads and druids then took control of the game by Scoring another 2 goals to make it 3 goals in 6minutes which killed the game off making it 5-2 to Cefn Druids. Both teams still going at it till the very end where another 2 goals were added literally 1minute from the end where Druids made it 6-2 and again less than a minute Skippy Grab another to make it 6-3.

Final Score Cefn Druids 6-3 Skippy FC

U13s Travelled to Abermorddu County Primary School to take on Hope Dragons in search of getting there first win of the league campaign, however after leading at half time 2 goals to 1 this was cut short early in the 2nd half as Hope Equalised to make it 2-2, 10mins later Skippy Youngersters made it 3-2 after abit of good play down the right handside and good delivery for it to be tuck in at the back post.
Both teams battling away in an end to end game. Hope managed to grab an Equaliser on the 65th minute to make it 3-3.
5 mins after that a mistake between the CB and the GK unfortunatley cost the lads a point as Hope player ran through the middle of them both to take it away frlm the gk and CB and slot it home into an empty net to make it 4-3 to the home side.

Final score Hope Dragons 4-3 Skippy FC

MATCHDAY - TWO COUNTIES CUP

We travel back up the coast for the 2nd outing against CPD Gronant, This time in the Two Counties Cup.

Skippy lads will be looking to put things right this time round and challenge Gronant for the full 90minutes and not make the same mistakes as in the previous fixture which saw us down 4-0 within half hour and game put to bed.

The lads are raring to go and can't wait to kickoff there Cup campaign against a decent side and try and cause an upset.

Winner of the tie will qualify for the last 8.(Quater finals) 🤞

SKIPPY VS DEESIDE DRAGONS

Massive game for both sides today, 2nd vs. 3rd, a win for us. Closes the gap down to 1 point and a win for Deeside will see them open the gap between 2nd and 3rd place by 6 points.

No doubt this will be a tough test for the lads as last season. The first game saw us lose 6-3, but then in the reverse fixture win, 5-0. Anyone's Game.

🤞 We can get a result.

U13s lost to Gresford as the first half saw chances both ends throughout the half.
Where one team struggled to score, the other one seemed to score. On a different day, the score line could have been reversed, but unfortunately, we were on the wrong end. Congratulations to Gresford, and see you on the return fixture.
FT Gresford 6-0 Skippy FC

1st Team Lose to Gronant after a shocking half hour, which saw gronant go 4-0 up through some poor decision making by the skippy team, After a couple of back and fourth we then got a goal back to make it 4-1 at HT.
2nd Half saw gronant kick off and a minute later they score an own goal due to lack of concentration, however this lifted the lads and we started to play, 4 minutes later skippy fetch the game back to 4-3. With belief now in the squad and an opportunity to try and draw the game level, gronant put an end to it by scoring down the other end to make it 5-3 and then 10 mins later 6-3 . The game at this point was back and fourth and both teams did look dangerous to scoring however gronant seal the win by adding another 2 Goals in the last 10mins to put the game to bed and in the 89min, skippy pull one back as a consolation goal.
FT CPD Gronant 8-4 Skippy FC
Overall, it was not the result we wanted, but we get another shot in 2 weeks' time when we return to Gronant playing fields, this time in the Two Counties Cup. Thank you to gronant for the game and as always a pleasure to play against.

MATCH RESULT Skippy 2-2 AFC Deeside.

Going into the game skippy was looking to extend there point tally to 7 providing they win, however Afc Deeside came there to get there first points of the season after 2 difficult loses aginats the 2 strongest teams in the league.

It only took AFC Deeside 8 minutes to break the deadlock with a strike from about 30 yards out, which beat the GK and hit the post and went in.

Skippy tried to get some momentum in the game but we're really sloppy on there passing and leaving to many gaps which AFC exploited and we're there to take advantage but lack in the final 3rd which on another day could of seen skippy be more than 1-0 Down at the break.

AFC Deeside fully deserved to be winning at half time 1-0.

2nd Half Skippy lads put in a better performance and started to take control of the game.
In the 77th minute, Kirk Ratcliffe equalised making 1-1. Skippy grown in confidence we're looking to try and take the lead but couldn't take any chances however AFC Deeside found space down the right hand side played the ball out to there winger who beat the Left Back and squared the ball across for Deeside to tap it in and take a 2-1 lead in the 90th minute with the game looking out of reach Skippy piled the pressure on and in the 99th minute we're awarded a penalty which on another day could have not been given.
However, Joao Da Silva stepped up and converted the penalty to make it 2-2.

Good luck to AFC Deeside and see you on the return fixture.

RESULTS CEI CONNAH 1-2 SKIPPY FC

Skippy take all 3 points and add them onto the table, now picking up 4 points out of 6.

What a game it was for the neutrals watching.

Skippy started the game slowly in the first 20 minutes and was lucky not to be a goal or 2 down. After Cei Connah had a few chances, skippy then found some momentum in the game and started to get a foot hold of the game and created some good passage of plays creating opportunities to attack. Unfortunately, we were unable to score any of our attacks until we got a corner in the 40th minute where Levi Davies scored a header to make it 1-0 Skippy.

Skippy piled on the pressure to try and get another goal just before half time. However, on the stroke of half time, Cei Connah scored a worldie of a goal, which looped straight over our keeper, making it 1-1. About a minute later Skippy Scorer Levi Davies was sent off and went into half time 1-1 and 10 men down.

Skippy lads knew being down to 10 men start of the 2nd Half ment it was going to be tough, and we're gonna be made to work. However the response from the lads start of the 2nd Half was magnificent as our lads find another gear and had Cei Connah Shook when we took the lead from an freekick which took a Deflection and ended up in the back of the Cei Connah net. After piling on more pressure, we had them defending their own box for about 15mins, when cei connah was clearing the ball, it was coming straight back. During this 15/20 minute spell we didn't allow cei connah to get a foot hold and we created numerous chances which could of seen us be about 5/6 goals to 1 but unfortunately unable to hit the back of the net.
For the last 15 minutes, Cei Connah managed to get some momentum going and have created a couple of chances themselves, but they were shut straight down
Few mins left of the clock, and the lads defended a 2-1 score line to take all 3 points.
Once again Cracking game for the neutrals.
