Exact same day 1 year apart

Things I've learnt since last year :

✴️ Your mental wellbeing is just as important as your physical wellbeing

✴️ Food isn't your enemy

✴️ Growth takes time, patience and dedication

✴️ You can do ANYTHING as long as you believe in yourself

✴️ Rest and recovery is SO IMPORTANT so give yourself a break sometimes

✴️ Learning to love every single part of yourself will be the most difficult but rewarding thing

I have just come back from holiday (as many of you probably have) and these are some things I'm doing to get back into a routine:

During summer many people go on holiday or go places and eat things which they normally wouldn't. THAT IS TOTALLY OKAY

However when you come home again sometimes it's good to get back into a routine, here are some tips on how to do that:

1. Take things slowly -
You may have gone on holiday for a week and not been to the gym whilst you're there (this is absolutely okay, sometimes its good to have a rest) but when you come home you don't have to jump straight into 5 sessions a week. Take it slowly go for 2-3 on your first week back or have a couple of low intensity workouts. You don't want to push your body too hard when you have been off

2. Change one thing each time -
Breaking bad habits or getting back into the routine of having good ones takes time. You're more likely to give up or give in if you change everything at once. Instead of saying I'm going to stop eating sugar, change it too I'm going to consume more fruit and veg. It is more achievable and is a stepping stone to long term goals. Just because you indulged on holiday does not mean you need to restrict yourself now you're home.

3. Look after yourself -
Do not punish yourself for not working out or eating too much or "unhealthy". The main thing on holiday is that you had fun and enjoyed yourself. Who cares what you ate ? One week of all inclusive food is not going to ruin your progress. Put yourself first and your time in getting back into a routine.
