Brimscombe Mill: Our Forever Home!

We Did It—Thanks to YOU!
After months of uncertainty, we are thrilled to announce that Brimscombe Mill is officially our forever home! Thanks to the generous support of an investor, a new sale has been completed, and we now have a long-term lease. This means we can continue to see our community grow and thrive in the place we love.

This incredible outcome is the result of massive goodwill from all sides: our previous landlord, our supportive community, and, of course, the generosity of the investor. To say we are excited, thankful, and hugely relieved is an understatement—this is far more than we could have imagined!
This incredible work to save Brimscombe Mill wouldn’t be possible without this epic community. Without your support, love, and feet at the Mill, we wouldn’t be where we are today. Thank you!
And it calls for celebration! With such a seismic thing happening as the Mill becomes our forever home, we can’t wait to celebrate with you.

SAVE THE DATES!

We Can Stay Party: 26th October from 5pm at The Mill. A lively, spontaneous celebration for everyone to savour this precious moment.

Community Engagement: November 2024. Help us celebrate what’s been achieved in the last 3 years and join us in shaping the Mill’s next 20 years. For dates follow us.

We’ll be inviting the community to engage with us and help craft an inspiring future for Brimscombe Mill. We’ll be sharing more details about these discussions over the coming weeks.

We are open Tuesday to Saturday from 10:00, and with this wonderful news and a line-up of events, we can’t wait to serve you and celebrate together this autumn.

Excellent condition. A few minor cosmetic scratches to rear derailleur. Frame and fork are pretty much immaculate, otherwise only small signs of use.

I am a fully trained, full-time bike mechanic so this has always been taken care of and well maintained. I really love this bike and am reluctantly selling to fund another bike!

BROKEN! The Brimscombe Mill community is being lost to become warehousing. This statement is a call to action and a need for community resilience ✊

In a surprising development, all of the social enterprises at Brimscombe Mill no longer have a home due to the property's unexpected sale. This space, which we've lovingly enhanced with hundreds of thousands in renovations, is more than a venue. It embodies our commitment to this community.

This is a shock to us all. We had been trying to engage with our old landlord to purchase the building or extend the lease, but he sold it in secret without any chance to counter. We have spoken to the new landlord, but he has no interest in letting us stay on site.

We are exploring other options for a home but we haven’t found anything viable yet. This puts all of the social enterprises and 53 jobs at risk.

This isn’t just the end of our lease, it’s a matter of land justice, impacting a community built on countless hours renovating the property, and significant investment in materials. This community asset is at risk of being lost due to the way land laws work and the way the broken “system” works. It doesn’t feel transparent, fair or right - and now we face destruction.

This isn’t the first time we’ve faced adversity as a community, and we’ll pull through it together. So, if you want to help, here’s some action you can take:
