We all know how important safe spaces are for kids and adults and the sense of community that can come from a simple pump track. Look at pump tracks around the world and see how they’ve brought communities together, increased both physical and mental wellbeing plus for us at Pendle panthers , created some amazing riders who have gone on to represent Team GB.

Hi everyone, just wanted to give this event a last minute push as it’s just one week away 😱 and the entries have been great so far, 138 riders which is more than last year and that’s flipping awesome!

There are 3 different routes of varying difficulty ranging from 9.5 miles to 32 miles so there’s something for everyone.

It is set in the beautiful Burnley and Pendle area with fully supported aid stations manned by the most amazing people and you could be there raising money for such a worthy local charity.

Please please share this amongst your friends and family and like the pet shop boys once famously said, let’s make lots of money.

Apologies for any ear worms I have introduced into your lives 😂

Ps do it before Tuesday morning so that the staff can sort out the bits beforehand.

Pendleside Hospice Charity mountain bike challenge

A while ago we set up a competition within our club for the kids to design this years t shirt for the charity mountain bike challenge and out of all the entries this was the winning design in the most voted for colour.

I’m sure you’ll agree that it’s an awesome design and you too can have one if you sign up before the 23rd May, if you sign up after that date you’ll get the standard pendleside hospice t shirt, so what are you waiting for, get it done 👍 please 🙏.

Hi everyone.
part of the Nelson town deal, part of the money has been allocated to parks and recreation, specifically Marsden Park and Victoria Park.
One of the proposed improvements or additions to the existing facilities up at Marsden Park is a bmx track just like the one in Barrowford albeit in a smaller scale .

This project, is specifically aimed at reducing the number of incidents of anti social behaviour by some of the youth up at marsden .
I’ve spoken to a few kids and I’m not condoning their behaviour by any means, but lacking any facilities based on their age , is a reason .

Parks tend to have swings and slides and a few open spaces to play however that’s great for kids who are aged up to about 11, but after that they’re not interested in swings and slides.

The youth have so much going on in their heads, hormones, transitioning from children to young adults that they need that release for all that energy.
A bmx track , as has been shown at the one in Barrowford, can give them that focus and release.

Making new friends, keeping fit, creating a safe environment and building a community are some of the benefits of such a track as well as keep them safe from the dangers of the road on bikes.

I’ve created a poll that I’d love you to fill out , any feedback is absolutely appreciated and if you fancy seeing what a bmx track can do please visit the one in Barrowford on any day of the week.
We have bmx sessions on Saturday mornings for which we have a massive waiting list so the demand for one is definitely there.

Marsden Park Pump Track

Blown away by these 2 little rippers at the British bmx championships.

Pippa walked away with 5th place in her final and Alice ( on Pippas back) cruised into 6th!

Super proud of our riders , each and every one of them .

The categories are super tough as it’s the BEST of the best in the country , who train on FULL sized BMX tracks a few times a week as opposed to our riders who train on the pump track, sometimes having to travel miles just to get some big track experience!

I hope that one day , we can train these guys on our OWN track.

Little edit of our MTB challenge in aid of Pendleside Hospice. I recognise a few riders on it from my friends list!

Hopefully next year it will be drier and sunnier.

Raised a decent amount for a first time too.
