Playing a Piece of European Tour History ⛳️

There are golf courses… and then there are places like Crans-sur-Sierre.

Set around 1,500 metres / almost 5,000ft above sea level in the Swiss Alps, it has been part of the European Tour/DP World Tour story since the Tour's inaugural season in 1972.

Why has it endured? You only need to look around. Snow-capped mountains, views across the Rhône Valley towards the Matterhorn and Mont Blanc, tree-lined holes and a golf course that demands far more than simply hitting it a long way. It's one of professional golf's genuinely iconic settings.

And then there's the ALTITUDE! 📈

At around 1,500m, the thinner air means the golf ball travels noticeably further. Tour players this week have been adjusting their normal carry numbers by roughly 5–7.5% depending on the club, temperature and conditions. Suddenly your stock 150-yard club isn't necessarily your 150-yard club anymore. 🤯

That's what I'm really looking forward to experiencing — working out the numbers, seeing how far the ball actually travels and then trying to control it around a course where accuracy and course management are still absolutely vital.

And doing all of that with the Swiss Alps as the backdrop. 🏔️⛳️

Golf doesn't get much more scenic than this.
