Worcester Club was founded by the late Shihan Eddie Daniels in 1984 and has been operating in the local area ever since. Worcester Kimura Shukokai Karate Club are members of both the Shukokai Karate Federation and Kimura Shukokai International - the official world governing body for Kimura Shukokai - as well as the English Karate Federation, the official governing body for Karate in England. Sense
i Steve Farrow, 4th Dan ran both clubs for many years when Shihan Daniels handed them over to him. In 2023 Sensei Steve decided to retire from full time teaching after many years of helping students of all ages succeed and he will be fondly remembered by all his students for his knowledge and personable and friendly nature which made training with him such a joy. Today, Worcester is led by Sensei Clem Braithwaite 7th Dan. Sensei Clem has been training since 1975 under Shihan Eddie Daniels 9th Dan and is he is now the Joint Chief Instructor of the Shukokai Karate Federation. Sensei Clem was one of the most successful competitors in the history of Kimura Shukokai and has held World and European titles in addition to being part of multiple highly successful men’s teams in Kumite (fighting) in his near 50-year Karate career. Karate is for all, you can take up Karate to keep fit, learn self defence, take part in competitions or to learn a traditional form of martial arts at your own pace in a supportive and friendly environment.
