🚨 Match Result 🚨
It was defeat on the road yesterday as the Berrow fell to a disappointing defeat against a talented Highley side.
Stand in skipper Symonds seemed to have made the right call by bowling first and Inkberrow got off to a flyer with a wicket in the first over. Wickets continued to fall at regular intervals and at tea we seemed in a good position. Then, like last week, up stepped the lower order to ruin any chances of an early tea. Berrow struggled in the field with a fair few dropped catches and despite late wickets, Highley set us 260 to win the game.
Fleming and Hammersley started us off nicely in the chase but their wickets soon fell. Broadhurst entered the fray with a huge six on his first ball but the excitement was short lived and he fell a few balls later. Read steadied the ship with his best impression of a test match specialist and Symonds attacked the change in bowlers with a quick fire 43. Wickets continued to fall and with rain interrupting play, the captains agreed to call the game with Highley taking the win.
Big thanks to Highley for their hospitality after the game, providing a cracking bit of food in the local pub and we wish the all the best for the rest of the season.
