Worcester United Cobras vs Droitwich Spa Sounders

Yesterday saw us take on sounders for the last time this season, with the first game being an absolute hammering the cobras lads were looking to get 3 points to continue there title

While now absolutely raring to go!

Game kicked off with cobras having the ball ans trying to adjust to the very windy conditions! Sounders looked lively down the left hand side using there pacey winger to run at the defence but nothing troubling the cobras back 4. On about the 16th minute Rodway picked up the ball in the back playing his trademark long ball forward finding Owen endacott who flicked ball through to find Ricky on the end of it who managed to bounce the ball over the eager diving keeper making it 1-0.

Sounders found themselves with there fair share of chances with one of them finding themselves back of the net but luckily the flag was raised and it was disallowed. Towards the end of the half a collision between 2 sounders players and Jimmy caused absolute chaos and up roar between both teams and spectators entering the field! Turned into absolute mayhem which stopped the game for nearly 10 minutes!

Game resumed after with the first jalf
Ending 1-0.

Second half kicked off and cobras started lively looking to put the game to bed but the sounders keeper kept them in the game 2/3 times
Over being in the right place at the right time! Frustrating first 15 minutes! Cobras made subs seeing Nick jones and Jelley enter the field for woody and Fusco.

Cobras were awarded a free kick in the 76th minute with returning Nick ‘Zidane’ Jones steps up and curls one straight into the bottom right corner 2-0!

But with only 5 minutes to play and absolutely calamity at the back and miscommunication between rodway and GK Marcin saw Rodway playing a looping pass back over Marcin
And finding the back his own net! Absolute nightmare in the dying minutes! But we managed to see the game out at 2-1

The scoreline does not match how the game
Ended! With cobras absolutely dominating second half but chances were not utilised a there GK making some important saves! But another 3 points and bother step closer to the league leaders! UTC 🐍

James Liddell - An absolutely solid performance at the back from Jimmy today! A very confident performance also! Winning all his battles and duals and getting up the field aswell! Class from him today!
Big shout out to Kieran MacDonald and Mennis too with great performances from both! Kie macca displaying his inner Kevin De Bruyne and Mennis being an absolute menace around the field!

Worcester United Cobras 🐍 vs Worcester United Rangers “Ringers” Reserves 🤡

So last Sunday saw us take on one of our sister teams who sit rock bottom of division 2 with a point to there name! Despite roping in first team
Players weekly they still haven’t managed to get a win yet. The ringers were out in full force against us Sunday as we knew they would be. Today cobras welcomed new signing George Jelley to the team! Another great addition for the team to strengthen up the defence and midfield!

The game kicked off and it only took the mighty cobras 5 minutes to break the deadlock as 1 half of the dynamic duo moggy picks the ball up on the right hand side and drove at the rangers defence absolutely burying the ball at the keepers near post! Keeper was left stuck in the mud as the strike hammered the net! 1-0 cobras.

Then 15 minutes later cobras added to there tally with an extraordinary OG from there centre back Kye Harper looping his own GK! 2-0 cobras! The ringers did have a few chances of there own coming from there only half decent ringer Josh Homans but nothing threatening the cobras goal! A fairly boring display from both teams to see the rest of the half out.

HT 2-0

Second half commenced and again with only 5 minutes played the dynamic duo link up play with moggy finding Ricky who makes it 3-0! But reserves did look like they were going
To grab one back but pawley was on his A game keeping a few driven shots out! But on the 61st minute yet another bit of link up play front the dynamic duo again as Ricky slips the ball through for moggy to run onto and he slots away the 4th! 4-0 to wrap the game up!

FT 4-0

Another 3 points for the cobras and another week closer to chasing lead leaders! Not the most exciting game but the lads did there job! UTC 🐍
