Silly post…seriously meaningful
Susan served as one of the most prominent cultural champions for cycling. She famously declared in an 1896 interview that the bicycle had “done more to emancipate women than anything else in the world”.

Fostering Independence: She noted that the bicycle gave women a feeling of “self-reliance and independence”. For the first time, women could travel wherever they wanted without needing a male chaperone or a horse and carriage.

Encouraging Practical Fashion: To ride a bicycle safely, women had to abandon restrictive Victorian clothing like heavy hoop skirts and corsets. Anthony championed the “rational dress movement,” which promoted practical attire like bloomers that allowed for movement and physical freedom.

Promoting the “New Woman”: Anthony and fellow suffragette Elizabeth Cady Stanton recognized the bike as a tool to push boundaries, publicly asserting that women were quite literally “riding to suffrage on the bicycle” because it physically and metaphorically moved them forward.

Thank heavens for Susan….she would have made a great Cycle Sista! 🥰💜🚴🏼‍♀️

Super excited to announce we will be hosting a ladies day at Antur Stiniog on Sunday 20th September

ℹ️Tickets are booked as usual through the bike park website
ℹ️the bike park will be open for everyone as usual (the ladies will just be taking over😜)

What a great weekend!!
Thanks so much to for sorting this weekend!!
Super cute camp over at the quaintest campsite ever on Saturday night then Sunday was spent adventuring and exploring around the stiperstones and surrounding woods…omg there is trails for dayzzzzz in those woods!!!
Can not wait to go back and explore!
Super pumped for all the wonderful women I shared this with..some of who are super new to biking but rode those trails like total queens!!! Complete blown away by their enthusiasm and confidence 💜💜
Bikes and babes make the best weekends! 😬🥰💜🚴‍♀️🙌🏼

Sun-soaked trails, muddy tyres, epic coaching, yoga in the fresh air, a little bit of Morris dancing chaos, and a whole weekend surrounded by women who genuinely lift each other higher ✨🚵‍♀️🌞 There’s something powerful about spending time with people who cheer for your wins, steady you on the climbs, laugh until their stomach hurts, and remind you how good life feels when you’re fully present in it. Tired legs, full hearts, wild dancing, deep breaths, and the kind of connection that stays with you long after the weekend ends 💜
