Alas, it was not to be a winning start to this new season, as a depleted Men's A went down 14-4 to Roussel.

What's this stuff for, again? It's so long since I played, it was probably in black and white, last time. But we're back! Club nights resume next Tuesday at Lime Kiln (20:00-21:30) and Thursday at St Joe's (20:15-22:15). Note that we're not currently playing on Wednesdays.

We still have to organise into bubbles of six for a while so you have to pre-book attendance and pay in advance - just like that brief period between waves 1 and 2 last year. If you were a member the last time we had an annual subscription, you should have received an email from Mel about restarting and how we proceed. If you weren't, but are reading this and thinking you might like to give it a go, ping me a message here or drop us an email at [email protected]

Hi. Remember me? Remember playing this...this...badminton, thingy...? Well, go up into your loft to find your kit, blow the dust off your racket and work out which end you're meant to hold because...[fanfare]...we're only flippin' well able to start playing again!

Yes, if you were a member last year, you should have received an email from Mel announcing the conditions under which we can start playing again at both Lime Kiln and St Joe's - starting from this coming week! It's all a bit fiddly, so please bear with us while we get used to it - it's a learning curve for everyone. Besides which, any complaints will lead to *you* organising it.

Stay safe and look forward to hitting a ball around again. Or whatever it is we do.

Message received from Becky Legge, Brunel University. If you've 15 mind to spare, maybe give it a go?

For my dissertation I am running an online questionnaire about performance under pressure. I am interested in how individual’s personality impacts upon how they feel and perform under different types of pressure that are experienced in sport.

The entire questionnaire should take about 15 minutes in total. You will have to respond to 6 brief personality questionnaires and then 12 hypothetical sporting scenarios, which aim to reflect difference pressures experienced by athletes.

In total, £200 worth of amazon vouchers will be given to participants of this study. Every participant will be entered into a random draw to win a £25 amazon voucher, and 8 of these will be awarded to different participants.

Any adult who plays a sport to a competitive level is eligible to take part in this study. This includes playing for a local club all the way up to competing at an international level.
