There is a possibility in the near future that we may be opening another swimming session on Mondays 7.20 – 8.15pm. This will be a trial for 2 terms to see if it is a viable option.
If you are interested in having a swim in this session please let us know on either [email protected] or [email protected].

To join the SPSC you don’t have to be a champion swimmer – most of our members just enjoy the gentle exercise. But some have taken part in the Great East Swim at Alton Water and some train for Triathalon competitions.

All adult swimmers are welcome.

The Club

• Members swim at Ipswich High School’s pool, Woolverstone

• Run by volunteers for members to enjoy exercise, relaxation and sociability.

• Swimming is every week apart from a short break over Christmas.

• 4 hourly sessions per week, Mondays 18.15-19.15, Wednesdays 19.30-20.30 and Thursdays 18.30-19.30 and 19.30-20.30.

• Each session is limited to a maximum of 30 swimmers with a lifeguard in attendance at all times.

• Members swim during the same hour each week.

• Non-competitive lane swimming - slow, medium and fast lanes, open to all people able to swim, aged 18 or over.

Cost

• Payment is due quarterly in advance, by direct debit

• A years’ swim of 50 weeks costs about £237.50 (£4.75 per session). (2022)

• The SPSC is a non-profit club.

• Free parking.

There are now approximately 130 members.

Each year there is an AGM, which is well attended by members and is a relaxed social evening held at one of the local Peninsula village halls.

Our Club is a non -profit organisation run by its members. We formed in 2004 for the local community to take advantage of the then new indoor swimming pool at Ipswich High School at Woolverstone near Ipswich. Since then we have welcomed people living nearby, as well as members coming from...

Evening folks, just a quick update to timings for our Monday night session. We have had to change the start time on Mondays from November the 14th to 18.15 -19.15 so the school has time to clean the changing rooms properly for us.

Don't forget there is no swimming this Wednesday 25th May due to repairs being carried out at the Pool. All Wednesday swimmers will be credited with £4.75 against the cost of swimming during the next quarter.

This year the AGM on June 7th, at 7.30 at Berners Hall, Wooverstone, is to be a more relaxed event so people have more time to chat and catch up with their friends and a much shorter business meeting. All Members are welcome to come and should have received invitations via email by now. The Committee is looking forwards to seeing members there.'

Fantastic to get back to swimming again this week. Thank you everyone for your patience and special thanks to our wonderful committee and lifeguards for getting us all back in the pool safely. Let's hope we have a great 2021
