There were some great races in 2009 including 'The Heath Races' on the Beaulieu Heath Circuit. A series of 6 events most years held on a Tuesday evening - this could of been the last year they were held.

A great shot down in the dips before the left turn back towards Ipley. Some local legends at the pointy end including our man Andy Bryson ..... Jason Eastwood, Stuart Bowers, Stu Thompson and a few hitters who's names escape me ha!

The series were held mostly under TLI rules and some years there were enough riders for a scratch group; and then the rest! Great days 🚲🏁😍

Please, don't be fooled by any imposter using the DHC monicker haha! ..... The initials DHC were created by my daughter - we were chatting one day about naming my fledgling eBay business, and she suggested 'Cyclesport' - "Dad, the name covers it all" (one of the suppliers was called 'Cyclesport North') ..... so, DHC it was named!

Incidentally the tagline for the business was 'Leading the Peloton' which within a few years would come to fruition - with the DHC winning British Cycling's regional championships for three years running.

The business and the associated cycle team 'Dave Harding Cyclesport' was always about the racing bikes and road racing. I hoped to transfer my passion for road racing (I had come to late in life) to the business and to the team as a whole...... even if I had introduced one rider to the Joy's of road racing and group cycling it would have been worth it!

This photo from 2009 at the shop - from left to right, Rob Hurd - consummate ex pro rider. Dave Hooper, my right hand man whom without we wouldn't have secured sponsorship (always a thank you Dave) - Yours truly and to my left a young Jon Dibben, I think he and Rob nearly won all the races they entered that year! Well done guys! 💥🚲🏁♣️

It was always my intention to help local racers as much as I could back in the day - some kit and a bike lend was a small contribution to help advertising the brand ✔👍 Thanks guys! 😘
