Woodley Wanderers Youth Football Club

Welcome to Woodley Wanderers Youth Football club! We currently have 17 youth teams from Under 7’s right through to Under 18’s.

Woodley Wanderers Youth Football Club was founded in 1971 and is an FA Charter Standard Club (which means we have been recognised for providing a safe and quality footballing environment which meets the requirements of the FA), attracting players not only from Woodley and Reading, but also nearby towns and villages, with coaches trained to a minimum of FA Level 1, DBS checked and First Aid trained

. We were also one of the first clubs in the area to start a ‘Multi Skills’ section (now "Mini Kickers") which concentrates on children aged 4 to Year 1 inclusive, who are not permitted to play in a team in a league under FA rules. It prepares players ready to play in our teams at Year 2 children, playing 5v5 football in the Berkshire Youth Development League on all weather pitches from September to April. This group focuses on the skills required for any sport and is delivered in a fun and innovative way.

⚽💐 A Mother’s Day Ode to Our Football Mums 💐⚽
Our football mums are legends true,
They coach the team and cheer them too.
They plan the drills and shout “great pass!”
Then tackle mountains of muddy kit and grass.
They drive the car and bring the snacks,
They pack the cones and spare shin pads.
They know the rules (and shout them proud),
From chilly sidelines in the crowd.
They fix the boots, calm match-day tears,
And organise the oranges every year.
So here’s to mums who coach and care,
Through wind, cold mornings and muddy air.
At Woodley Wanderers we all agree—
Football mums are the heart of our team! 💙⚽

Fantastic start to the season this weekend for our u8 and u9 teams! It marks a historic moment for the Woodley Wanderers as we play our first games in the all girls league.

Some first time goal scorers and amazing development over the summer. We are proud of you Red Pandas!

Our teams return to winter training this week, ahead of the season start for some of the teams on 6th September. We still have space in some of our squads. There's still time to get in touch if your child is looking for a team for the new season

Thanks to Coach Sam Lindsay for our girls’ masterclass ahead of the women’s Euros. A special treat for our girls as Sam is a former Division One football player form the US and coaches the girls for Ohio Premier Football Club in Cleveland, Ohio.
