-4 was required at Fulford Golf Club to claim a spot at Final Qualifying for The Open โณ๏ธ
That was effectively out of reach from the 2nd hole. Into a strong headwind, a 150-yard approach caught a flyer, flew long, hit a downslope, and finished out of bounds โ triple bogey 7.
I responded well, hitting my final 11 greens in regulation and playing holes 8-18 in 1-under par, finishing the day feeling good about the state of my game.
As always, Regional Open Qualifying remains the most exciting day of the golfing year for me. The preparation, the challenge, and the opportunity to test myself against a strong field make it an event I always look forward to. Iโll be back again next year!
