Yesterdays results from our U15 girls and seniors!
Here’s Graeme’s view on the U15 match;
A tough afternoon for the girls, but plenty of positives to take from the second half. We started the game slowly and found ourselves 4–1 down at half time. An early penalty put us on the back foot, and a couple of poor challenges during the first half disrupted our rhythm and made it difficult for us to settle into our game.
We were awarded a penalty of our own, with Evie Bent stepping up to take it. Unfortunately, it rattled the crossbar and stayed out. Evie didn’t let that disappointment affect her, though, and went on to score both of our goals.
The second half was a much-improved performance. The girls showed more fight, played with greater confidence and looked much more like the team we know they can be. We created opportunities and battled right until the final whistle.
A huge well done to Evie Butler, who was deservedly named Player of the Match for her effort and performance.
Unfortunately, Lola Morris sustained a painful ankle injury during the game. Everyone at Woodhall Spa wishes Lola a speedy recovery, and we hope to see you back with the girls very soon. The result wasn’t what we wanted, but there is a lot to build on. The girls showed character to come out in the second half and give a much better account of themselves.

Here’s Toms thoughts for the men’s;
A frustrating afternoon for the Spa lads despite plenty of fight and determination. Spa started brightly, with Sam Emerson heading home from a Turner Kingswood corner to make it 1–0. Kirton quickly equalised before adding two more to lead 3–1. Spa pulled one back when Tom Fiddies launched a ball into the box to find the head of Kyle Hickinbotham who’s attempted at goal was parried into the path of Ash Quinn, who calmly slotted home to make it 3–2. Kirton restored their two-goal lead just before half time. Spa came out fighting in the second half and continued to push. In the 80th minute, Quinny’s corner found Ollie Atkinson at the front post, who dinked the ball past the keeper to make it 4–3. Despite a determined finish from Spa, Kirton found a late fifth — a real fluke — to seal the win.
