Woodhall Spa 1XI ended there season with a 5 wicket win over Spalding, finishing 6th in the league.

More importantly, 13 year old Archie & Josh picked up their ECB debuts receiving caps 131 & 132. Both lads thoroughly deserved the opportunity, Archie showing this by picking up 2-30.

Hopefully we will see more of the lads next season! 🏏

Our Woodhall Ladies Super 8s team are beyond proud tonight after winning the Lincs League Winners Finals match at Lindum.
As winners of the South league we were already feeling super happy with our season but tonight our team put on an impressive performance when it mattered the most. Batting first, Erin helped our team to a total of 86 off a reduced 12 overs, by retiring on 22.
We then had to go out and bowl and do the other half - and that we did! With Carys and Rosie getting a wicket followed by a caught and bowled by Minuki we had a great start that we just needed to keep hold of to the end. All of our players were so focused throughout the fielding innings and kept our opposition to 51.
An amazing season ladies that we should be very proud of!
Congratulations to all our players and well done and thank you to Lindum for being great opposition and hosts.

Woodhall Spa Ladies v Lindum Ladies 🏏

Sunday afternoon saw Woodhall Spa Ladies travel to Lindum for our penultimate Long Format match of the season.

With several players unfortunately unavailable, we had a mixed team, including April making her Long Format debuts — and what a fantastic debut she had! 👏

Winning the toss, Woodhall chose to field. We must congratulate Lindums player Scarlett who produced a great performance, bringing up her second century in just two weeks! What an achievement!

There were plenty of other highlights too, with April taking her first wicket — a fantastic moment to see — while Jo was outstanding behind the stumps on her second match 🧤🏏

Lindum finished their innings on 199, leaving Woodhall with a big chase ahead.

Nic and Rosie opened the batting and did a fantastic job of holding firm, steadily working their way through the overs and ticking the runs off one by one.

Unfortunately, once one wicket fell, the others quickly followed. A huge round of applause goes to Ali and Amy, who put together an incredible partnership, adding 56 runs between them. A brilliant performance from both! 👏🔥

And then came perhaps the moment of the match… With just two balls remaining, Jo came to the crease with the bat — only to be given LBW by her own husband, Andy! 😂🏏

Despite the result, there was a fantastic atmosphere around the ground, as there always is with Woodhall Spa Ladies. Plenty of smiles, laughter and fun both on and off the pitch — exactly what cricket is all about! ❤️

Our final Long Format match is on Sunday 6th September at 1pm, at home.

On Tuesday night we played our final ladies Lincs league Super 8s match at Bourne CC which was a really enjoyable match. Both teams had a number of youngsters playing for us which was fantastic to see and made for a great atmosphere.
We won the toss and elected to bowl first. Our ladies worked as such a strong team in the field, keeping the run rate down throughout.
It was then lovely to see a new pair open the batting for us, in Minuki and Becca - who did us so proud together with super communication together.
A huge well done also goes to April and her amazing performance in her first ever ladies hardball match - the first of many no doubt!
Well done to all ladies who played and thank you to Amy for scoring and Titch for umpiring!

This win solidified our top spot in the league which is a fantastic result for what has been another great season for our ladies teams. Thank you to everyone involved and congratulations ladies, you deserve it! On next to Finals Day!

Last night our Woodhall Spa junior players enjoyed an in-house "Hundred" style match against each other. Our families and supporters were out in force despite the earlier weather concerns - cheering and clapping all of the players throughout the evening.

The players split into two teams - The Woodhall Bombers vs The Spa Spitfires. The Bombers batted first and scored an impressive 108 off their 100 balls.

So it turned to The Spitfires to see what they could achieve in response. With some key bowling in the latter stages stalling the Spitfires, they could only manage a total of 97 runs.
What great fun everyone had, with singing, boogieing and waving of flags altogether - we even managed a Mexican wave from the crowd!
Well done to all the players, you are truly amazing and a joy to coach and manage! What a season we have had!

Thank you to everyone who helped out to make the night such a huge success and a massive thank you to St Hughs Academy who hosted the event for us due to the earlier downpour!

St Hugh's Academy was a lovely setting for our last round of the EMWCL tri-fixtures for our Super 8s ladies team on Sunday.

First we hosted Caistor ladies CC, followed by Saxilby ladies CC.
It was a really enjoyable day of cricket with some much needed cooler weather, which we were very grateful for.

Our first match against Caistor started well and we picked up 3 wickets to keep them to a total of 277. We batted well keeping the total totting up as our pairs went along. Unfortunately with two strong bowlers towards the latter stages of the match, Caistor managed to claw back four wickets to end on the victorious side of a very close match.

A huge well done must go to their captain Beth who batted with an independent score of 38 as well as picking up 2 wickets alongside Anne-Marie with 2 also.
It was a real nail-biter right to the end, but enjoyable throughout! Well done to our ladies for not giving up and persevering till the very last ball!

Caistor then went on to play Saxilby in the second match, again finishing on top.

The final match of the day saw our side take on Saxilby. They won the toss and elected to field first, so we put on our pads ready to hit the ground running. All our ladies again batted brilliantly, gaining a total of 308 with the loss of just one wicket.

Now we had to complete the second innings to the same degree - of which we did! Six wickets taken and our opposition finished on 236. That's what you call a come back!
We are so extremely proud of our ladies team, well done to all involved! Great job ladies!

Woodhall Spa CC v Can You Cricket 🏏

Last Wednesday, Woodhall Spa welcomed Gareth and the Can You Cricket team for a fantastic midweek game.

Gareth is a former Woodhall Spa player and has always been a great supporter of the club, so it was brilliant to welcome him and the Can You Cricket team to our wonderful grounds.

Can You Cricket batted first, putting together a very strong innings and finishing over the 300 mark before Woodhall Spa headed out to bat.

It was a fantastic game played in great spirits, with plenty of sportsmanship and camaraderie throughout — exactly what cricket is all about. 🏏

A huge thank you to Ann, Ruth, Gothamee, Becca, Anneka and Sally for putting on such a fantastic day in the clubhouse. The cricket tea was absolutely brilliant, with a plethora of homemade cakes and treats keeping everyone well fed! 🍰

The bar had a fantastic buzz throughout the afternoon, and a great day was had by all — rounded off by around 30 people attempting to share one pair of eclipse glasses for a glimpse of the phenomenon! 😂🌞
