💙 MEET BAV & MARK… 80s STYLE! 😂
We thought it was about time we properly introduced ourselves… and because we couldn’t resist jumping on the AI 80s photo trend, we thought we’d have a bit of fun with it! 😂
So, for anyone who doesn’t know us…
I’m Bhavika, although most people call me Bav, and this is my husband Mark.
We have four children, so between family life, work, the farm and Swim Blue, there’s never really a dull moment in our house! 😂
A little bit about us…
💙 I’m Bav
Before Swim Blue, I spent around 20 years working as a registered nurse spread across the RAF and NHS as well as private healthcare. Caring for people has always been a huge part of who I am.
I’m now a sound and massage therapist, which has allowed me to combine my experience of caring for people with my passion for wellbeing.
Sound has become a huge part of what I do, and I particularly love creating those calm, intimate experiences through our floating soundbaths.
And if you’ve been following Swim Blue for a while, you’ll probably know I’m also the one who is constantly coming up with the next idea! 🤣
💙 And Mark…
Well, Mark is very much the man behind the scenes.
He’s a construction manager, runs his own construction company and started his career as a bricklayer before going on to lecture at Lincoln College.
So when I decided we should build a swimming pool at home…
Guess who got the job?! 😂
Mark and his team built Swim Blue, and he’s been involved in pretty much everything behind the scenes ever since.
Builder. Fixer. Problem solver. Gardener. Dad. Husband.
And the person who probably rolls his eyes the most when I say, “I’ve just had an idea…” 😂
Swim Blue really is part of our home, our family and our journey.
We wanted to create somewhere personal and peaceful — somewhere people could come, enjoy the water, relax and feel welcome.
And now our vision is growing again, with the development of Abbey Warren Retreat & Spa, bringing together swimming, sound, massage, relaxation and wellbeing here in the Lincolnshire countryside. ✨
There’s still a LOT to do…
But we’re enjoying every crazy minute of it!
So there we are… Bav & Mark, circa 1980-something! 😂
