Bromeswell fishing lakes

Bromeswell fishing lakes "FISHING AT IT'S BEST" Our two lakes are well stocked with carp up to 24lb+, roach, rudd, tench etc, and meticulous maintained to a very high standard.

Unfortunately we have had to reluctantly make the decision to close the lakes on a permanent basis. I would like to thank all (well most of!) our customers/friends for your support over the past years and hope to see you on the bank or beach in the future. It has been a great experience running the lakes, but now is the time to move on - do more fishing and retire properly. Tight lines, Jon

TBT to a mad trip to France on a tiny little intimate venue that had a reputation for producing some VERY big fish.
Little did we know that 26 fish between 50 and mid 70 would visit our nets that week. This low 50, and it still seems weird saying it, was an average fish for this trip.
Insane I know!!!

Quick update on the lakes. Both lakes are fishing extremely well at the moment, with the carp being particularly active. Best baits are still pellet and paste or small 12mm or less boilies - with the most important thing being feeding little and often throughout the day. Please could I also say that the lakes are OPEN i.e. we are not closed!!! During the week I was spoken to by a gentleman who expressed dissapointment that the lakes were closed and an aquaintance confirmed his wife had been told that we are closed. SO TO REPEAT - THE LAKES are OPEN. Please challenge anyone who tells you otherwise and ask why they are spreading these rumours.

Quick update on the lakes! All species have finished spawning and are feeding well to recover from their exertions. We are now open until 9pm, so you can enjoy an evening session once the weather improves. Carp are dominating captures at the moment (pellet and/or paste are go to baits) but we have seen a good number of tench appearring in catches as well. Well that was all very positive....however as normal one or two people have to spoil it - the occupants of this car were good enough to take their rubbish away.......but decided to leave two enormous turds behind their fishing spot, together with the tissues they wiped their eastern european arses with! Needless to say if you were in the car - don't come back - I don't care if that's what you do at home - you are in England and we use the toilet provided.

Lakes still mainly frozen today 8am expect to thaw out during the day.

24/01/2023

Tuesday 24/1 both lakes are still almost completely frozen-except for small areas that the ducks are working hard to expand! I would expect the ice to have largely gone by tomorrow…..but no promises, further update tomorrow after I feed the ducks 🍞🍞

22/01/2023

Sunday 22 January 2023 -4c at the lakes 9:30 this morning, so the parts that thawed yesterday are frozen solid again. Looking at updated forecast Tuesday is earliest for a thaw - will update again on Tuesday.

18/01/2023

Probably not a surprise to anyone, but after two nights of -4c both lakes are frozen (18/1/23). Looking at forecast and consulting crystal ball - best guess is Saturday possibly Sunday before ice is gone,

20/12/2022

At long last both lakes have thawed out (Tuesday 20/12).

17/12/2022

Probably goes without saying, but both lakes are still frozen! Looking at the weather forecast - Tuesday 20/12 looks like being realistically the first day when the lakes will be free of ice (fingers crossed).

10/12/2022

Both lakes are even more frozen now! So we are closed for the weekend - let you know when they thaw, keep warm Jon.
So its off to the beach, the sea is not frozen......yet.
