The weather was certainly kind to us considering the recent rain and cold spells, although cold, it was great running conditions.
As always, too many people to thank, but in particular, the marshals and volunteers, over 50 in total, from me, I thank you all, without you we could not put this race on, well done to each and everyone of you 👏👏
I will put another post on with more details.
Congratulation to all of the winners, category winners etc, but in our eyes, everyone is a winner!!
A photographer was taking pics at the finish, when these are received we shall process on here.
Well done and thank-you to you all.

Final prep this afternoon for tomorrows race.
A little final prep in the morning but all is looking good.
The number collection is set up ready for you from 08:00.
A slight alteration for when you finish, we shall be crossing you over in a different area when clear to do so.
It is crucial you listen to marshals in this area, for both yours and other runners safety.
❤️🖤

Evening everyone,

A quick message to say that signs for the race on Sunday are now along the route so that the local residents are aware of the race.

You will all now have the final race instructions which have all the information you will need for the day.

Please also check your junk / spam, in case it has gone in there.

We are looking forward to seeing you all on Sunday, key points for you :-

• Regstration from 08:00.
• Numbers collected on the day.
• In SURNAME order.
• Must fill in back of number.

Please do not park disrespectfully around the streets of the route, or block driveways, we need the support of the local residents 👍

With less than 1 week to go to the Wombwell 5, we thought we would share with you the second charity we are supporting.
And again, thanks to you, we are pleased to donate £125 to The Kirkwood

WHO THEY ARE
We are clinical and medical professionals, fundraisers, chefs, receptionists and cleaners. We are supporters and volunteers. We are patients, carers and families. We are a movement of people motivated by our shared vision to provide the very best care for the people of Kirklees.

WHAT THEY DO
The Kirkwood help to improve the quality of life for local people, against all the odds. When time is short, we help everyone in our care to live well and make the most of every single day. We make the complex simple by focussing on what's important. And we support families and loved ones to live on - and live well. We are The Kirkwood and we Support Life.

WHY THEY DO IT
We believe that everyone affected by a life limiting illness deserves the very best care. Care which helps to improve quality of life - for however long that may be. In the future, we want more people to reach out so we can make a positive impact on their quality of life.

An amazing group of people of whom I nominated, as they supported me and my family shortly before my sister passed away in November 2025 😢

Hi everyone,
With entries and transfers all ending last Sunday, Time My Race have done a great job in completing and finalising the last of the transfers, if you have not been contacted but placed your name on the waiting list, apologies but no further transfers were available! 😞

Due to another sell out, we are proud to highlight the first of our 2 chosen charities who Kingstone Runners are supporting during 2026, for every entry, KR have donated 50p, therefore £125 will be allocated to the below.

The Exodus Project.
Exodus was established in the year 2000 by Jackie and Martin, who remain actively involved in the projects operations and development. In 2023 they were recognised for their outstanding services to Young people and charity and each awarded an MBE

What began as a single activity club in the heart of Barnsley has grown into a vibrant network of 15 activity clubs, a weekend activity centre, three charity shops, a dedicated team of 18 staff, over 80 volunteers, three minibuses, and a large van. Today our projects span across Barnsley and Wakefield, guided by a board of eight trustees who help shape and inspire our future vision.

We work closely with children and young people, particularly those from less advantaged communities. Our mission is to steer them away from harmful lifestyle choices and create opportunities for personal growth, skill development and building their aspirations.

Because we focus on less advantaged communities, our services are provided almost entirely free of charge to the young people we serve. To continue this vital work, we rely on the support of those who have, standing in solidarity with those who do not.

As you can see, a great cause for our first charity, thank you to you all for entering Wombwell 5 - 2026, and helping us support Exodus Project.

We work closely with children and young people, particularly those from less advantaged communities. Our mission is to steer them away from harmful lifestyle choices and create opportunities for personal growth, skill development and aspirational-building.
