I’m so happy to be introducing two new Sunday morning classes with David from next Sunday 13th September.
6.30-9.15am Ashtanga Mysore-style practice
8:00-9:15am Ashtanga counted style practice (in parallel)
More info: https://davidkeens.yoga/
Mysore-style self-practice doors open at 6:30am, arrive anytime but finish your practice by 9:15am. A self-practice usually takes somewhere between 60 and 90 minutes.
Led–counted practice starts at 8am, and takes 75 minutes.
No booking necessary. Just turn up.
About the practice:
Ashtanga is a moving, breathing, flowing style of yoga practice. You learn a structured sequence of yoga postures and movements, one at a time, at your own pace.
Mysore-style self-practice is a way of learning Ashtanga individually within a group, with everyone practising their own sequence, at their own pace. Teaching is personalised to the individual, with one-to-one instruction and guidance. You don’t need to know the sequence to start. You’ll learn it posture by posture, and your practice will grow week by week. The practice becomes your own.
In the led–counted practice, instruction is given to the group, along with the traditional ‘count’ that the practice follows. Everyone moves together as a group. If you’ve done a group yoga class before, this will feel more familiar.
Mysore-style is a great way to start a yoga practice because you’re taught one-to-one. But if you prefer more of a group class vibe, then the led–counted practice is also suitable for beginners.
