Having done thorough risk assessments, taken detailed guidance from the LTA, ensured members are kept fully up to date of latest developments and their responsibilities, Woodfield Tennis Club is open as usual.
Our lower courts are in great condition. Court bookings must be made in advance online to avoid congestion.
Main clubhouse, bar and other facilities are open as normal.

WOODFIELD FINALS WEEKEND – MENS DOUBLES FINAL
In a match worthy of any final, the experience (old age and caution) of Rich G and Rich L overcame the youth and power of Ben and Luke to lift the prestigious 2020 Mens Doubles Trophy, 5-7, 6-4, 6-1.
The contest, which only the harshest of commentators would have called turgid, tiresome, attritional and soporific, saw the younger pair edge the first set and then race into an early 2-0 lead in the second. The two Richard’s, who changed service ends and receiving sides at the start of the second set, gradually wrestled the momentum away from their opponents and won the second set with a break in the final game.
The 6-1 final set was flattering to the eventual winners who claimed victory under a cloudless sky and a Covid induced spectatorless seating area. Winner Richard L said, “it was a tough battle but that was what we expected. Well played Ben and Luke, I’m sure they’ll win things as they get more used to playing at the business end of tournaments”
The finals weekend also sees the Ladies, Singles Final and Consolation Final, the Mens Singles Final and Consolation Final, the Mens Over 45’s Final and The Mens Over 60’s Final.
