Since Bernies Big Bash, we’ve had loads of people asking us about the fantastic live music we had on the day; who the bands were, where you can see them again and when they’re next playing! 🙌

And we can completely understand why… they were all absolutely brilliant! 🔥🎶

As for The Mystery Band… unfortunately, they’ve now headed off to continue their European tour. 🤣🌍🎸✈️ We’re just grateful they managed to squeeze Bernie’s Big Bash into their hectic international schedule! 😂

But fear not…

❤️ NEXT UP… CLAIRE’S 10K! ❤️

After the incredible success of Bernie’s Big Bash Himley Cricket Club last Sunday, we’re absolutely delighted to share that together we have already raised over £6,500 for the British Heart Foundation! ❤️

But we’re not finished yet…

This Sunday, Bernie’s daughter Claire will be taking on the Birmingham Running Festival 10K, alongside a group of her absolutely amazing friends.

These beautiful ladies have trained with her, encouraged her and supported her every step of the way. That kind of friendship is incredibly special, and it means more to Claire—and to all of us as a family—than we could ever properly put into words. ❤️

The love and support we’ve received from our wonderful friends and family throughout Bernie’s Big Bash has been overwhelming. None of this would have been possible without every person who has donated, helped, attended, shared our posts or simply been there for us. We will never take any of it for granted.

❤️ WE DID A THING! ❤️

Where do we even begin? Now that the dust has settled on Bernies Big Bash, we just want to take a moment to say the biggest, most heartfelt THANK YOU to every single person who helped make the day what it was.

What started as an idea to remember Bernie, bring people together and raise some money for the British Heart Foundation became something far bigger than we could ever have imagined.

And that was entirely because of YOU. ❤️

👏 To our committee, who put countless hours into organising everything behind the scenes.

🙌 To every single volunteer who gave up their time before, during and after the event, we simply couldn't have done it without you.

🎸 To our live music acts, who were all absolutely AWESOME and gave us a fantastic afternoon and evening of entertainment.

🏏 To all of our cricket players who signed up, got their kits on and were ready to go. Sadly, the rain had other ideas and stopped play before we'd even started! ☔😂 Thank you for taking it in such good spirits and still getting behind the day.

❤️ To every sponsor; our main event sponsor, live music sponsor, team sponsors and every individual player sponsor. Your generosity allowed us to put on the event and maximise what we could raise for the BHF.

🎁 To every business and individual who donated a raffle or auction prize; the response was incredible.

And we're not finished yet! We still have two more fundraising challenges to add to the total:

🏃‍♀️ Claire and her friends are running a 10K this weekend
⛰️ Hayley, Harlan & Fletcher, along with sone wonderful friends will be scaling Scafell Pike later this month

So that total is still going to grow! ❤️

Thirty years after we lost Bernie, seeing so many friends, family, businesses and members of the community come together in his name has meant more to us than we could ever properly put into words. Yes, we wanted to raise money. Yes, we wanted to put on a brilliant day. But more than anything, we wanted to do something that would make Bernie proud.

We think we managed it. ❤️

From all of us at Bernies Big Bash, thank you for believing in it, supporting it and making it such a success.

❤️ A HUGE THANK YOU TO PACT ❤️

We’d like to say a massive thank you to Pre-Hospital Advanced Care Team (PACT) for being part of Bernies Big Bash and giving up their time to support our day. 🙌

Throughout the event, the PACT team carried out life-saving demonstrations, showing people vital skills that could one day make the difference when somebody needs help most. ❤️‍🩹

With Bernie’s Big Bash being held in memory of Bernie and raising money for the British Heart Foundation, having PACT there felt particularly fitting and important.

Thank you to everyone from PACT who attended, demonstrated, explained and answered questions throughout the day. We genuinely appreciated you being there and helping make the event about more than just having a great time, but potentially helping to save lives too ❤️
