The life of this page is almost done. If there is any coverage in the Express and Star of the Hungarians in Wolverhampton I will post it here, but other than that it simply remains to record my thanks.
The Wolverhampton Under17s have had a great opportunity to travel, to experience Hungary, it’s culture and some fantastic hospitality. I hope the Hungary team has felt the same about their return visit here. There has been some great rugby played. Our lads can look back on playing a national side, a year older than them, and winning - twice.
There has been a huge amount of hard work put in by many to make this possible. The coaching staff and parents at Wolverhampton, Sophie Ison and Rob Annable, The Hungarian RFU, it’s officials and it’s coaches, Andras Toth, Esztergom and Honfoglalok Rugby Clubs, The British Ambassador to Hungary, The Deputy Mayor of Wolverhampton, Staffordshire RFU, our generous sponsors. And I would like to say a personal thank you to Kate Bradshaw, our link at the embassy in Budapest who was the genesis for the whole of this wonderful adventure. She is seen here in the garden of the Ambassador’s Residence in Budapest with her nephew, and current Wolverhampton player, Charlie. Thanks Kate, and thank you all. It’s been a blast!
