East Park parkrun

East Park parkrun A free, weekly, timed 5k walk/jog/run at 9:00am every Saturday. Open to all ages and abilities.

15/06/2026

Good afternoon parkrunners,

We are nearly there with the rota for Saturday, just a few roles left to fill. Thank you to those who have already volunteered.

We still need
🟣1-2 marshals
🟣1 barcode scanner (if your finish time is around 25 mins or under, you could run and scan)

It would also be nice to have on the rota.
🟣report writer
🟣photographer (phone photos are fine)

If you can help out please message below, DM, or email us - [email protected]

Many Thanks

We had several visitors, some joining us for their first East Park Parkrun. We hope you enjoyed it and we look forward to seeing you again.

29 of you got a shiny new PB today, so well done to you all.

My favourite bark runner, Monty from Sedgley Striders visited today and made a bee line for me as he knows I'm the treat dealer 😂

“East Park Parkrun

Event no. 261
Finishers 181/Volunteers 21

A cool and windy morning, upon arrival at East Park, this didn’t last long before the sun was out.
In full swing with our running club from Cannock, The Arcade Crafty Runners, we were out to celebrate our Hannah Cole’s 50th Parkrun!!

3 laps of the park, this wasn’t my first rodeo here - my 3rd visit and it was lovely to be cheered on by such encouraging volunteers and a good turn out of runners, from lots of different running clubs!

A course all on tarmac, road shoes (or even carbons) are definitely the one!

In an amazing 16:17, Samesh Chotai was first male across the line…first female was myself, but less about that!

Our first Crafty home was Tom Newman (our club’s GOAT) with a calm 20:02…apparently, he’s got Man Flu!!
Well done also to our Hannah, who PB’d with 25:30; along with 28 other runners now with a new PB and 44 runners who it was their first time at East Park Parkrun this morning!

Happy Saturday!

Woo hoo, it’s parkrun day tomorrow 😁 This weekend will see the one millionth parkrun event globally👏

Thank you to our brilliant volunteers. We have a packed rota, but still space for a few park walkers and a photographer. Either message or come and find us at the bandstand in the morning.

If you are planning to visit us tomorrow, just a few things to help everything run a little smoother in the morning :-

⭐️⭐️The first time welcome and full briefing will be at 8:50am with Tim by the bandstand. Michelle will be your Run Director in the morning and will be getting things started promptly at 9:00am.

🟣🙋‍♀️🙋If you’re volunteering with us tomorrow, please aim to arrive at the bandstand by 830/835 at the latest if at all possible. If you are down to help with pre-event setup could you meet us around 8.10am at the main gate where you drive in please. All the info will be in the email we’re sending you shortly.

🙋🙋‍♀️If anyone could spare the time at the end of the run we could always do with help packing the kit away please.

🚗 🚙 Just a note on parking for those of you new to East Park or who haven’t been for a while.
FREE PARKING is available inside the park on either side of the main avenue as you enter off Hickman Avenue.

Please be aware though:-
🔒🔒WE LOCK THE MAIN GATES AT 08:50🔒🔒
as the course crosses the only vehicular access. They’re not opened again until the tailwalker has passed for the 3rd time, normally around 9:45 ish. Pedestrian gates to the park will remain open at all times in accordance with general park opening times.

💨🚗 If you want to get off quickly after your run, or it’s full inside the gates, there is plenty of free on-street parking all around the perimeter of the park. Many thanks in advance with this.

🙏 👮PLEASE NOTE:- The council have renewed some of the yellow lines and signage around the perimeter roads of the park, so please check before you park up and get out to run or volunteer with us.

🚽Toilets in the park will be open around 8:00am (green building in the middle of the park)

🐕Please be mindful that anyone taking part with a dog, it must be kept on a short handheld non-extendable lead.
🚫✋Waist harnesses are now NO LONGER PERMITTED🚫✋
Absolutely no exceptions with this one unfortunately.

🫃🤰We know everyone that is a regular at parkrun knows this but…just a friendly reminder that all children under the age of 11 MUST be within arm’s reach of a parent, guardian or allocated adult of the parents choice at all times during the event. Thank you for your understanding with this.

We have two cafe options for post parkrun refueling.

☕Hickmans Cafe, just across the road from the park: https://maps.app.goo.gl/uhCqjPpJeqBMffHW6
They are now open following their refit

☕Reece's Cafe, just 4 mins drive from the park: https://maps.app.goo.gl/KeVhK9Tb2bk1D4hS6?g_st=ipc (Show your barcode at Reece's to get 10% off any meal £5 or more)

And finally….but most importantly….

📱⌚️PLEASE NOTE, we can now accept barcodes on your phone and watch as well as wristbands and printed ones…there really is no excuse now.

🏃🏃‍♀️FIRST TIME AT A PARKRUN??🏃🏃‍♀️
If you are thinking of coming to do a parkrun for the very first time tomorrow, and haven’t got a barcode, please visit the following link below to register for your barcode:-

⬇️⬇️⬇️⬇️REGISTER HERE⬇️⬇️⬇️⬇️

https://www.parkrun.org.uk/register/

Once you’ve gone through the process to sign up, there is an option to print your barcode out, or just screenshot it on your phone, bring either and our scanners will be able to do the rest. You won’t need it at the start of the run, just when you finish. Any questions, speak to the Run Director or any of our other volunteers.

See you in the morning
