Challenge five - Find 5 things around your house that you could throw safely to someone in danger in the water. Remember they need to be able to reach it, but not get hit on the head. Make a hoop and practice throwing your items into the hoop. Post me a photo of your 5 items and you practicing throwing them (if you have the space).

Make sure you discuss weather your item would sink or float, maybe you could test this in the bath. Older children could practice throwing to each other. (Be warned I haven't risk assessed this).

Challenge four - What is the SAFE code?
If you don't know goggle it (homeschooling at its best) and post the answers on our page, yes i want them on there 100 times. Tag your friends also who wouldn't know what it is.

Challenge three - What signal to we make when shouting for help? Take a photo and post on our page, and yours.

Make sure we practice shouting for help, nice and loud so that some one would come running.
Remind the children we don't shout for help unless we need it. Ask them why not? Remind them if we shout for help when we don't need it, when we really do people might think we are joking.

Challenge two - get your children and you in the bath/shower/paddling pool in their PJs and take a photo, share on our page. Whilst the children are in the bath in their PJs ask them why do we practice swimming in clothes.

If we were to fall into water it is most likely to be in our clothes, so if we know that it will make us heavier we are less likely to panic, and know that we need to kick harder to make it back to the side. Talk about floating as a star float on their backs, and shouting for help. Would love a photo of this if it is paddling pool weather, haha.
